The scoop is...

Chris Evans | 10:36 UK time, Tuesday, 27 March 2012

...Our mini summer we're having at the moment is due to end, well more like a fade actually, sometime around Friday sliding into Saturday. So this is it folks, for now at least. Make the most, pretend you're the toast. Except for me, I'm like the perennial beetroot. Not fun, or pretty but you can't have everything.

Great show today from the team. They really are the mutts' unmentionables when it comes to giving me good stuff to play with. As Freddie once said, "I thank you all !" Well, he sang it actually but I'm sure you get my drift.

Peace and Love and Sunblock.

Morning Debs! I see you're not here again x enjoy your trip even though you have to work.

It is rather barmy out there for the end of March.

Love to Annie for her birthday.

    Morning All,

Tis another glorious day in North Kent, still a tad chilly, but wall to wall sunshine; and, Yes Chris, I am making the most of it cause there is still time for it to snow!

    xxxx HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE xxxx

Debs, Have a safe trip xx I spent most of the '90's travelling Europe on Business and hardly saw any of it! As you said, plane, hotel, conference centre, hotel, plane, home.

CG and CB, I don't think we are friends on 'tuther side, I'm pretty easy to find if you want to be friends :) xx

Dozer, Wow! Well done you on the HGV licence, you are a dark horse xx

I don't know if any of you watched Mastermind on Friday night (the 7:30 episode), you were probably too busy watching Sport Relief. But if you did my friend was on it, the one who came first, the rather large chap!

Hi Chris: awww, I don't want our mini summer to end, but thanks for the heads up! Yes, the show was terrific this morning (but then, it always is) - I do always think the team must be working so hard - everything goes like clockwork. And, you are brilliant, of course! xx

I'm in the mood for giving out compliments today!

AliB: I didn't see Mastermind (we were watching an old Doctor Who ... don't ask!) but I will have a wee look on iplayer!

MsS has just called me to say that she and her boyfriend (it's their day off) are just heading out for an al fresco lunch ... I told her not to give me another thought, I am just soooo looking forward to being stuck at my desk, and having a chicken sandwich!

    Hello Chris & Everyone.

We must make the most of the sun while it's here Chris, we knew it wouldn't last but hopefully the summer will arrive eventually. I'm just hoping the man comes to fix the CH/HW before it does turn cold.

Loving the facebook doggy pictures, I can now see Randall, Gibbs & Henry. It all makes me want to get a puppy but I don't think Tom & Daisy would like it apart from the fact that I couldn't keep up with all the walkies.

afternoon peeps - yes, tis me back from the abyss (well the frantic week that was the 'play wot I waz in')
All 3 performance went incredibly well and we were sold out for each one - over 450 folk through the door who all enjoyed a fantastic play accompanied by a glass of wine and cheese and biscuits at the interval. Not bad for £5!

Happy Birthday Annie - hope you are opening a bottle or two of meerrloot, tonight!

I have tried to find a few minutes to catch up on all the goings on but have failed, sorry - although I did hear Ebs mention this morning. Boy oh boy! that's some life change you are undertaking.

Weather has been so gorgeous, I can't bear to think of it ending. Had lunch in the garden of Sunday - lovely.
Today's repast is houmous with celery sticks and cauliflower florets - some bits of which I now need to fish out from between the letters on my keyboard!
Wish me luck - I'm going in .....

    ttfn, Crumpy xx

    Afternoon folks,

Happy Birthday Annie, wishing you a lovely day xxx

Wow, Chrissie, how lucky are we to be sat inside, strapped to our keyboards , with a " to do" list that grows by the minute ? Think of how we are saving money by not having to buy pub lunches, with refreshing drinks and then the hassle of trying to find a cool spot in the beer garden . Then when we are finally released by the weekend, it will all be over ........ no worries mate ! :-))

Debs, enjoy your soiree , go easy on the foreign Penguins, they may bite you know !

I missed the news about the Chocolate keeping you slim , well, after all these years, i just knew it was the fruit that was making me put on weight .

Right, back on my perch, things to do and people to taser .......

    MC xxxx

CG, your little chappie is gorgeous xx

Ps Hope everyone else is well,

PPS Crumpy, good to see you xx

Happy Birthday Annie, hope you have a good one.
Since my office move I don't get too much sun at work so I won't get to appreciate the good weather until later. Why couldn't the weather wait until next Monday to get cooler, heh?!

  • Comment number 10.

me again, back for a wee look.

Crumpy: glad to hear the play went well - yes, that is some bargain for a fiver!

MC: my point exactly ... who on earth wants to faff about with a lunch, sitting outside some lovely place that has great food and cold white wine just waiting to be consumed? So happy I am at work instead! I roar with laughter every time you mention that taser!

    C xx

  • Comment number 11.

    Ladies, I couldn't agree more!!

Why would I rather be sitting outside my window in the sun with the gaggle of gossiping residents rather than at my desk in the shade!!

I wouldn't want to be bothering with a nice cold drink!

Even the gardener is out in shorts and t-shirt today!

    Sezza xxx

  • Comment number 12.

It is very quiet on here today! Perhaps everyone has joined Chrissie's daughter in the pub :) It is cruel to be sitting in an office when you know that people are out there enjoying the sun!

Still I am optimistic for a long, hot summer xx

I forgot to tell you about the massive bruise I have on my arm just below my shoulder. I ran into a door handle with an almighty crash on Saturday and boy do I have a sore arm and bruise to prove it. Moral of the story - stop running everywhere - slow down!!

Shall I put the kettle on?

    AliB

  • Comment number 13.

AliB: sorry I wasn't around for a cheeky wee cup of tea earlier. xx What a shame about your run-in with the door handle. I'm sure you will know this, but Arnica is excellent for helping with bruises.

Heading home soon, just in time for the air to cool down, no doubt! Have a nice evening, everyone.

    Hi all,

just dropping by to wish Annie a happy birthday. Hope you are having a MARVELLOUS day! BTW, have you closed your fb acccount? I can't seem to find you 'over there'.

  • Comment number 15.

me again peeps - decided to take a leaf out of Ms S' book and have an alfresco drink - so after a day closed up in the office, I am sat in the garden - doing my best to ignore the weeds and the junk that needs to be taken to the amenity site - enjoying a glass of orange. I have had to move on to the orange as the two G&T's I've already drunk have made me feel a bit 'whoo hoo' - if you know what I mean!!

I did try to soak them up with a few peanuts and some olives but sadly the Gin won!

It was 24 degrees when I was driving home and i'm certain it must be that now - just gorgeous!

Is there a Tuesday Wine Club?? hic!

    ttfn, Crumpy xx

  • Comment number 16.

Evening all, it was 24 degrees in my. car tonight. Am currently sat in the garden, enjoying the peace and quiet. This heat really plays havoc with my alfresco chocolate consumption. I shall just have to eat it doubly quick. Have a nice night MC xxx

    Evening each

Ah, no Chris.... summer is over? Bums.

Just home from looking after poorly 9yr old. He was great this morning then proceeded to get very pale and droopy this afternoon, so no school tomorrow either.

Off to catch up, back in a bit. xxxx

  • Comment number 19.

    And here I am back.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. And CSN, Debs, AF, thank you for the lovely cards.

I have M&S gift tokens and a ginormous box of chocs from that Hotel - there are now a few spaces in it. Crumpy, I'll join you in the TNWC if you're still here.
And your mention of trains to Edinburgh reminds me that I've not booked anything. Will be calling a committee meeting next week.

Lin, I'm still on FB, and I'm sure we can find each other.

Ali - bite your tongue!!!! Snow indeed.

I sat in daughter's garden all afternoon and I'm now a pretty shade of pink - haven't looked at my nose yet.

Annie did you know that there is now a Hotel C*t shop in Edinburgh?

It has been the most beautiful day here today, the record for the warmest March day has now been broken three days in a row. I finished work early today and spent a couple of hours reading in the park until a rumbling tummy dictated that it was home time. I'm hoping that this weather lasts at least another day, ideally two, as I'm now off. I have to pop into work for a couple of hours for a Heart Start course but then I'll be enjoying the sunshine!

Hope all is well in blogland.

    Morning!

Just love this weather, by some miraculous quirk of fate, I've managed to be in Brighton twice this week. Those appointments will definitely take longer than planned......chips on the pier anyone?

Stuck on the A40 not moving at the moment which provides me with the perfect opportunity to sneak in and wish the lovely Annie an early 'Happy Birthday!' for next year. Or a late one for yesterday if you'd prefer ;0)

    Good morning everyone,

Doesn't look like the weather is breaking here just yet, although I have to say, there is something very strange about still being in shorts and vest top at 7pm when the leaves are not on the trees yet!

Well done Crumpy, I wish we were nearer to enjoy your shows.

Nothing of interest to report from here, so have a good day everyone.

Chris, Christophe, Christopher.... your show today is another Mutts Unmentionables [love that phrase!], just really making me smile, laugh and just feel glad to be alive in this world at this very moment. Dr Frank King was just mind blowing - such an intelligent, articulate and interesting man, his students must look forward to his lectures each and every day. Kep on keepin' on, Chris, you and your Team are indeed the D's Bs... Wishing you and yours Love, peace and unlimited supplies of sunblock,

    Hi Bridget-M,

You said you were not far from Brighton - I hail from Worthing, so whereabouts are you in Sussex? No need for specifics, just say N, W, E or S of Brighton and how far away, 'cos one of my oldest and bestest mates still lives in Brighton! Whenever we visit Worthing, I have to run down to the sea and breathe in that salty tang of sea and seaweed...

Have a great day down on the sunny Sarf Coast Bridget - BTW, agree 100% about James Morrison and his track and loved your closing comment, so positive and compassionate!

    Love and stuff,

    Jan
