What a busy bee I am today...

Chris Evans | 11:39 UK time, Friday, 16 December 2011

...In fact I'm so busy, there are bees who are threatening to sue me for violating their airspace.

Crazy show this morning with The Strictly gang; followed by filming with this year's 500 Words winners Angus and Olivia to promote next years short story writing competition; then off to have lunch with my family before The One Show with Lee Evans, Sue Johnstone and Prof Bri Cox; after which it's The One Show Christmas party.

Phew.

Gotta get on.

Peace and Love

Chris, enjoy your lunch, show and party, you are a busy bee, but you would be bored if you werent busy!

Hiya fairy friend - how you doing?

I'm counting down the hours to later today, but in the meantime am awaiting a parcel that GD has ordered, and I know the contents are for me - how tables have turned - will i tear a corner off and have a peak.....

    Later everyone

Great choice of music by Len this morning, he reminded me somewhat of Michael Caine with his humour and personality.

    Bring on the weekend!

    Come on Carl Froch!

  • Comment number 5.

ha ha MTF - I know, even more intriguing is a box in the fridge that I'm not allowed to look at!!!

From other blog, sorry to hear about your woes Sezza, what goes on in their heads indeed - GD discharged herself from A&E (runs in the family....) at 4am on Sunday after knocking herself out and being taken there in an ambulance - only for us to have to return Sunday pm as the bump on her head continued to grow....

    (shes fine now thank goodness)

    Kids hey,

Maddie, hope you feel better soon, keep warm and dont bump into things with no lights on!

Right, not here as you can see....

    Afternoon,

Lunch has been eaten, not very exciting today a cheese and peanut butter sandwich, which it usually is on a Friday as I can't be bothered to do anything else.

Debs, Ouch to the GD - kids you've got to love 'em xx

Chris, you think your day is busy let me tell you about my weekend...here goes.

Tomorrow morning I am having a table top sale at a local church for my Zimbabwe project, got to be there at 8:00am. After that I shall pop home for a bit of lunch and then back down to my church to set it all up for the Nativity. That involves moving all the chairs, putting the "back drop" display up, making sure all the clothes are sorted. Then it's home for Strictly.

Sunday, Nativity Play....eeek! Doing the whole service, so a bit nerve wracking. Got to pick some of the kids up early as I can't rely on their parents to drop them off at 10:00am. Then it's home for lunch then out in the afternoon, catching up with friends. Back to work on Monday for a rest!

Did you all manage to keep up? ;)

Got a few invoices to pay then I am going to bunk off early as I've got loads to do this afternoon as well!

    Have a super weekend everyone.

    Lots of love

Good Grief Chris - don't forget to breathe at some point!! And AliB!!

All is calm here........we're still waiting for job news, so t'other is sulky quietly in the corner and as we aren't here for Christmas there's nothing to organise!

We have beautiful blue skies here at the moment and the sun is actually quite hot! Apparently it snowed overnight, but by the time i got up (T'other dealt with grumpy boy this morning, I emerged at about 09.30 - bliss!) it had all gone!

Sezza - {{{{{hugs}}}}} Not looking forward to the boy being a teenager........

MM - hope they can find out the problem, and fix it!

Right, off to see if my bread has risen

You certainly are a busy bee Chris buzzing here, there & everywhere.

Tonight's One Show sounds good with interesting guests, enjoy the party afterwards when you'll be free to let your hair down.

I managed to avoid bumping into the furniture Debs and it's now brightening up again.

Thanks for the good wishes re the neck pain, I've had it for too long now and it's now stopping me from sleeping so need to find out what exactly is causing it.

Off to do some Christmas prezzie wrapping ####################

    Hello blog chums next door.
    :^)

Lovely to read back over the last few days' postings in here - during what is a very busy, yet thought-provoking time of the year. There's been a fair degree of emoting occurrin' in the Mayoblog as well. lol.

Anyway ... just thought I'd drop by with an invite - designed by Festive Florence - to a 'bit of a do' which we're having next door on Thursday 22nd.
Much like your famed FNWC, it's a drop in if you can sort of affair.

T'would be truly grand to see you all

Maddy, hope your neck pain can be sorted.

    Katy, I'll be there.

  • Comment number 14.

Don't know why a got moderated above.... All a was saying, in not a mean't ter cause offence way, is a think CLP mentions 'is wife too much on 'is show!!!!!!
So much that a when ever a listen to 'is show a now do the when will 'e mention Tash game!!!!!
Of which Monday a got inter me car, turned on me radio and the firsr words a 'eard CLP mention at 07.32 was "now my wife!!!"

A nearly crashed me car a result all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A like Tash, A like CLP.... A like 'is show VERY alot.... But CLP does mention 'is personal life too much on air!!!!!!!
    Just my opnion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But with 'is ratings continuing ter go up.... Who cares!!!!!!!!

A still think CLP's show is very good ter listen ter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And a also mentioned a 'ope tash does a guest blog sometime like she did last year!!!!!!

A for one and all bloggers would love a Tash blog.... Maybe for crimbo!!!!!!!!

    Bye!

    Evening!

I know Deevs is off enjoying Duran Duran tonight - but I'll put in my Advent guess for all weekend - A Candle!!!

And we've had some news on the job front - T'other didn't get the job at CERN, so the plans for the Orkney move will be put into action in the New Year!!!

    ebx

  • Comment number 16.

PS Annie G - A could do with some of that 'oney ter sell meself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At a tenner a jar.... One thing for sure it would 'eal me bank account!!!!!!!!!!! ;-))))

  • Comment number 17.

PS ALL - No offence ter Tash or CLP.... butta just 'ad ter mention the 07.32 Tash mention..... It just made me chuckle so much!!!!!!!!

  • Comment number 18.

Bingo, I'm sure no-one will take offence - everyone is entitled to their opinion. And, as for that very special honey - they must be very busy bees (see what I did there?)

Ebb, so sorry OH didn't get the job but, really, who would want to work for an organisation that kept people waiting so long to hear? Not nice. I've missed something somewhere - you're going to Orkney? Have you got room for visitors? xxxxxx

  • Comment number 19.

Annie - Always room for visitors!!

Yep, the plan A will now be a move to the Orkneys, with t'other probably working as an off shore medic. We've always fancied the idea of Island living and this is the perfect opportunity for us to do it.

Now the planning can begin, we need to find a house big enough for all the visitors!
    ebx

  • Comment number 20.

Good plan ebb. If you get a house big enough for a B&B, I'll get Kirstie, our resident tour guide, to recommend you.

    Good luck. xxxxx

Weekend Greetings Ter CLP, Tash & ALL...

    Bingo Star 'ere...

Actually a think it should be weak end greetings as am feeling most weak at my end of the situation!!!!!!!!!!
A feel me words may ave been misinterpreteted and a may ave caused upset due to me light hearted comments about Graham Norton, Dale Winton & INDEED Alan Carr!!!!!
A really didn't mean ter cause offence in their camp!!!!!!!
Not that am saying they are camp!!!!!!
Not that am saying they are not camp!!!!!!!
Oh this is getting too confusing for me all!!!!!
A like The Norton, The Winton & The Carr (Alan not Jimmy) (Although a do like The Jimmy too!!!)
Me #11 still moderated blog was only meant tr be light 'earted VERY much in the same way as the above mentioned 3 would, actually 4 are mentioned above.... Above mentioned 4 would deliver 'umour whilst on air!!!!!
Yes sometimes riskay but not meant ter be malicious/ offensive!!!!!!!

  • Comment number 23.

Also Ter CLP & Tash - A for one would not like it if CLP never talked about 'is personal life on air!!!!!!!!
A find it interesting ter 'ear with the ear 'ow Tash, Noah etc are getting on/ what they are doing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A mean for example The Mayo a 'ardly ever 'ear 'im mention 'is family.... And a find that frustraiting.... most frustraiting!!!!!!!!!
In fact it's as frustraiting as a find trying ter spell frustraiting correctly!!!!!!!!

A do NEED ter know more about The DJ/ Broadcaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, ok yes ave occassionly 'eard The Mayo mention 'e takes 'is child (or is it children?) ter school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ave forgotten 'ow many 'e 'as got!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's 'ow rarely 'e does mention the above mentioned!!!!!!!
We need more details, times, dates, names..... But not everyday, every 'our!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Not everyday.... every 'our!!!!!!!!
INDEED even the most nice Jo Whiley often mentions what she did with 'er family during the day... Most nice ter 'ear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Most nice ter 'ear!!!!!!!!

One thing for sure all.... A wish CLP would talk about 'is Ferrari collection more..... Now that for me can be everyday every tens minutes as far as am concerned, let alone every 'our!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only problem there a can see The Clarkson feeling anger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(No offence ter The Clarkson before this gets moderated as a result of possible offence ter The Clarkson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

    Peace and love ter all!!!!!!!!!!!!

My goodneeeess..... Am getting mesen inter a right difficult situation 'ere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Bye!

    Afternoon each

Chris - if you are getting in the way of the bees then I am getting in the way of the blue bottomed flies cos I seem to have been running round like one these last few weeks!

I really, really dont know where the time is going! BUT, the important thing is I`m enjoying it, I have my health and someone who loves me and I`m already for Father Christmas (said in a slightly smug fashion as I`m usually a last minute type of gal!)

Some lovely postings on here over the last few days and I echo everyone`s sentiments x

Now, puppies... (the woofing kind of course, not the Gok kind..).Have never been a dog person myself but do like dogs if you see what i mean. But next door have just got a gorgeous bundle of collie fluff called Jude..I`m in love with her..even when she tries to have a nibble at my fingers! Will be offering my walking services when she is old enough for sure!

Anyway, slight lull at work but must get back to it...working up to and including Christmas eve so will be back before then...

    hugs to all..

PS - Can i have an advnet guess?! A polar bear going down a chimney...just cos!

    Howdy all!

Sincere apologies for my lengthy silence - I still love you all, I promise! It's just that Jasper-dog is on the downward skid now, and I tend to lock myself away from the world at times of despair, so that I don't inflict misery on other innocent souls! It's the wickedness of fate that gets me really - had SUCH a wonderful time with you all at CiN, answering the calls, saying hello to the great and good (Lynn Bowles was my favourite, I think), learning the "A or B" game, and, well everything about those couple of days, really....!

But, hang on a mo., because here are the fates stepping in to collude against me...: Fate A: "Hey up - looks like Roo's just had her happiest weekend of the past few years."
Fate B: "Yep, she actually looks cheerful!"
Fate C: "Well, we can't have that, now can we, lads? I mean, it is ROO we're talking about here..."
Fate B: "Fair point. Any ideas, boys?"
Fate C: "I know! Let's kill her dog!"
Fates A & B (together): "Yeah! Great stuff! Get him!... (etc.)"

Hey ho - but we're still hanging in there, and doing our level best to keep smiling. Jasper remains buoyant and is still blogging away (albeit sporadically) - Google "Jasper dog blog", he's the top result.

THANK YOU, again and again, to those who have sent messages of support to us via FaceCloth. I cannot tell you how much they have meant to us both in terms of comfort and understanding.

Have loved CLP's shows this week - top stuff as ever. But really, Len Goodman is edging ever-closer to actually being "Barry from Watford" on the Steve Wright show....

How goes the "Deev's Advent Calendar Challenge"?! Jasper guesses a fat, fruity, juicy Chrimble Pudding, just for him, behind today's door!

    Love to all,

    Roo and Jasper-dog xxxxxxxxxxx

  • Comment number 28.

Scoobs - I have told him the same thing many times over. Jasper says that "age is just a number" and that it would be "cruel" to deny the fragrant Jude "the many benefits to be had" from his company.

I'm firmly with you though - Jasper ought to be playing dominoes in a Day-Care Centre by now, not still chasing young fillies about the country!!

  • Comment number 29.

Jasper would only cheat at dominos, steal all the afternoon biscuits and chase the nurse-hounds!!!

Roo, was lovely to meet you in London and have been thinking of you

Scoobs, I've been enjoying the odd Gok moment - I just happened to have enough points on my card to get a big vanity case of Glittery Gok Goodies absolutely free!! Gorgeousness!!

Feel like I should be racing around busily but can't get going. Am feeling a bit stressed out dealing with boy1's activites this week - sorted now, sort of, but has been a little nightmare!

    Happy Monday 19th December 2011.

APologies for absinthe since Thursday but I have just had 3 fantastically wonderful amazing days and there was just no time to put the laptop on at all. Feel free to skip/scroll down but I shall now tell you all about it ....

Friday - THANK YOU Jakeygirl for a fab time in Madchester! It was snowing when I was met at the station by JG, then back to JG Towers for lunch and meeting the gawjus Finlay (cute doesn't even come close!) and then into Madchester where JG showed me the sights - the big wheel in the city centre, Arndale Centre, Chinatown and the MEN Arena of course. Duran Duran were absolutely blimmin' amazing. It's the fourth time I've seen them over the (30) years of being a Durannie and they just get better and better! So, to Messrs Le Bon, Taylor, Taylor and Rhodes - THANK YOU!

The train back to JGs was a bit of an "experience" but we survived. And after a really good night's sleep it was back down to Cannock to continue with weekend ....

    Pt 2

So, on to Saturday and PANTO TIME, and Cinderella in Brum.

It was only my 2nd ever panto but I have to say, it was really, really funny! Brian Conley's in it this year playing Buttons and it's only when you see someone like him doing what he does best that you come to realise how plastic and manufactured the "entertainers" are today. It's a shame that the likes of Brian Conley, Shane Richie, Bradley Walsh etc have been ousted from the tellybox in favour of reality TV shows, in my opinion.

If you get the chance, I say - go see panto in Brum - you won't regret it, but you will very probably ache from laughing afterwards!

When we got in (late!) we put MiniNic to bed, cracked open a few tinnies and watched Strictly - well done Harry! - making it a very late night indeed.

    tbc ..... x

  • Comment number 44.

    Pt 3 (bear with me!)

Sunday: well, what can I say? Quite possibly the best day I've had in a very long time - a train into Brum with Nic, and just basically doing what we wanted to do, when we wanted to do it. No agendas, no timetables - just a German Christmas Market, some Bratwurst, rather a lot of beer, some retro clothing purchases (I now have a fab fake fur - tres kitsch!), a new puppy (no, not a real one!) and a lovely meal at our fave restaurant (Spanish) in the Mailbox before getting back home and an evening of watching telly in bed.

I woke up this morning smiling, knowing that Nic's only got 4 days at work before finishing for the year and a week and a bit off - yay!!

CB - I may be able to help you with the Christmas jumper thing. I'll send you a message on FaceAche x

Roo - much love to you and Jasper. I can't really add much to what's already been said above, but thinking of you and sending huggles galore lovely lady. x

And so onto the Advent Calendarness .....

Friday 18 - "sensible" robin sitting on a branch
    Saturday 19 - A ski-ing dog (yes, really)
Sunday 20 - a cartoon fat robin wearing am assive wooly bobble hat

A point there to cockneybird I think, who guessed bobble hat!

Right, I'll leave you all in peace now (or pieces, if you've waded through all of the above!) but I'll be back .... oh yeh!

Have a lovely day, whatever you're doing, and stay warm and safe.

I had a very busy weekend! Saturday morning I made £37.50 selling mine and other peoples "tut" for my little orphans in Zimbabwe. Then it was down to the church to set up the Nativity. Yesterday morning was said event, which went down a storm, not least one of the little shepherds throwing all the straw out of the manger! Such Fun :) Then it was to friends for a buffet, games and carol service. Back to work for a rest today.

    Mornin' all .....

Had our first Christmas dinner yesterday which I cooked for the in-laws. Lordy it was tasty ... just hope the real thing next Sunday will be as dee-lish.

Some sad news for me on Saturday - my beloved uncle of 87 passed away suddenly. He and my aunt had just celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary too. It was very peaceful in the end though, surrounded by his family and he knew how much he was loved. I suppose in the end that's all we can ask, isn't it?

Anyhoo, Deevs - glad you had a great weekend and many thanks for the Christmas card. This year I'm going to be donating to the RNLI, as have other bloggers I believe, because they do sterling work here in Kent and I really hope no-one minds?

I'm finishing work on Thursday and I seriously can't wait - it'll be PJ's all day every day if I get my way!!!! Luckily we're not going anywhere and we're not seeing anyone!!!!!!

Take care all and stay warm and safe.
