Good morning CLP

THANK YOU for being so very chipper on air this morning - I was up half the night with raging toothache and was pleased to hear you firing on full throttle, helping to get me ready, presentable and into work!

Our weekend was mainly domestic - preparing for our holiday. Ironing, ironing and more ironing, which will be folded up and put in a suitcase, only to arrive at its destination in need of an iron ....

Back later - after dentist appointment this arvo if I survive.

I like to stay in for dinner especially on the cosy winter evenings. Having said that I do enjoy going to a posh restaurant now and then which is also when I like to enjoy a glass or more of white wine or champagne together with a few brandies.

Hiya: a VERY quiet Monday on here ...

Pen: thank you, yes, we are settling in nicely in the flat. Though I must be honest, it still feels strange - not quite "home" yet, but getting there. Re: the local - again, must be honest - I've been in the place twice in the past week! Just briefly with MrS last Thursday for a wee whisky and lemonade (he met me off the train), and then on Saturday with my sister who was over a for a visit. She always INSISTS we go to the pub ... and who I am to argue?!

Sezza: commiserations on the dentist thingy - it's horrible. But I would still rather go to the dentist than the hairdresser, as I have said a million times before! Re: Downton - I must say I really do want to watch it, but just haven't had the opportunity. There does appear to be a little "overkill" in the press, though!

I've never watched Downtown either, although I do have the whole first series on my V+ box, just never got round to watching it yet. I'm waiting for a cold wet day. But if I was given the choice last night I would have watched Spooks, the reason is that I can fast forward through the adverts on the other side!

Last night I recorded them both and went to bed early!

Mr CSN said he would clear the living room of furniture ready for decorating while I popped out to buy something for dinner, so why is the TV still in there. LOL!

Annie, I don't mind the dentist - usually!! He has lovely brown eyes! Was just a bit much today

Have just had a Eureka moment. I usually buy my favourite hair product from the local big chemist chain that sounds like some shoes but half the time they are sold out or they've taken it off the shelf until so many people complain that they have to bring it back

I've fooled them though! Ordered it in-line instead!

Hi all

Please excuse me but - We won the cup! We won the cup! ee eye addeioo (sp)! we won the cup!.... Yes we were surprised as well (so were they!!!). So we have something to go to the presentation night for.

Back to the conversation. I watched Downton last night but didn't really get into it (I didn't watch the first series), we've never watched Spooks and it seems a bit late to try to get into it, so it looks like we'll have to avoid both.......

Now my mind is wandering again because we have some issues with the house at the moment. There is some 'movement' in the front walls and paving so we're getting a surveyor round this week to see what's wrong and what needs to be done. I'm a bit worried to be honest but I'm sure that it will turn out OK in the end (although it may cost a bit....).

Just a quickie, stacks to do .....

Tooth feeling better already - you gotta love those magical antibiotics!

Been up since 5.30 am. Almost finished the housework - just the lounge and vacuuming to do when I get home. The ironing pile is non existent, the laundry basket pretty much empty. Piles of hoiday items are appearing around the house which just leaves the task of packing - which I hate with a passion!

Hope you're all feeling tickety boo - will try and pop in later but to be honest, it's not looking very likely .....

I have a very chesty cough today and I am also wondering how a lovely lady like me can produce so much snot....lol, probably too much information! Apart from that I'm fine. Bit cloudy here today but not too chilly.

An update on the movie at the church - the produce came yesterday to look at the room and said it would be ideal. He asked if we wanted payment, so I said we didn't but we would like a mention on the credits. He said we could have that, and that I could go to the screening and also have a copy of the dvd. It will be a couple of months until they start filming as the script is being finalised. I am still intrigued about who the famous ladies are that are staring in it. He said one was in her late 70's and the other early 80's both stared in Ealing Comedies. He gave me a rough outline on the script, and it does sound like it could be "such fun". I'll keep you posted - 'citing.

Boss is due for a visit today, so I best look busy!
