nineteen minutes past ten and i was listening to Blue, one love, whilst excercising some muscles. the computer crashed and that was the end of that. it was good while it lasted. i'll try again later and fix this baby somehow, how ever it instructs me to, either that or i'll just take my chances and listen to the computer friendly tunes. what else is there to do but enjoy it while you can. Good Morning everyone.

thirty-nine minutes past ten and listening to the the sound of the tortoises moving around in their terrarium and Barney the cat purring.

Just come back from visit to the Dr. He confirmed that it is the Chicken Pox virus that is still making me feel unwell and that adults take longer to get over it than children. He wants me to have a blood test just to rule out anything else occurring, so bloods on thursday and then see him again Monday and I pray that I feel better by then and can return to work. Feel really bad for being off work for so long.

Can't beat Santana might have to dig his album out now.

Huggles to those that need them.

    Keith enjoy your holibobs
Rebecca morning and good luck fixing the puter

I'm listening to the 11am news (well actually I can hear it playing in the background just not clear enough to hear the headlines which is good some days)

I caught Santana at 9:07 - only problem whenever I hear that song I wanna get up and dance - today I have a sore throat and am having to work hard - I even missed Popmaster :( (Got 3 on the second round because I caught one question and knew the answer without thinking properly lol) (I'm on a break atm hehe)

Did you have a good weekend?

  • Comment number 6.

Hi Chris: what a great experience this morning, listening to you play Santana, and then hear you saying you had just written today's blog! Multi-tasking at its best! xx

Keith: Hola, and adios! Have a lovely holiday. xx

Rebecca: good morning to you too. Hope you get the computer sorted - I wouldn't have any idea what to do!

kks: sorry to hear you are still feeling awful, you poor thing. Try not to feel guilty about being off work, it just can't be helped, you are not well. Hope you see a big difference in the next couple of days. xx

Hope everyone else is ok - will try to catch up with the weekend activities on the previous blog, once I have completed one or two work-related chores!

    Good Morning CLP & Everyone.

43 minutes past 11 and I'm listening to It's A Kind Of Magic which is the first of Elaine Page's favourites. I have to say it's one of my favourites too. And so are Elaine's songs, especially Midnight, I Kn ow Him So Well, etc.

My day is now sorted. In between what has to be done (mundane chores) I will be listening to the sounds of the musicals.

Hi Karen - I think the song you mean was Rabit Rabit by Chas n Dave

Gail, I said my piece over the other blog - and it is good hearted of you to think of others going through it - but for you - this is important and a very very sad thing to happen.

    And crying is good - better to let the grief out. Once more Big Hugs {{{{{{{{{{{{{ }}}}}}}}}}}}

I had a lovely weekend with my sisters - cried like a baby when the one who lives in Hampshire went back home yesterday. Spent the day with my other sister, we went to see Mama Mia the musical which was fab and then back to her house for homemade steak pie which was yummmmmy!

So now I have no phone that works (other then a brick which is not a long term solution) and am 12 squid worse off and now my network want me to send the phone to them as I am not due an upgrade for 12 months as it was a two year contract

    Hiya:

Gingembre: that's a very impressive time - really well done! You must have great strength of character to get through a painful last three miles, but your determination would have seen you through. xx

CSN: sorry to hear you are not well. Take care, and if you can face it, try some Pulmo Bailley! (you would think I had shares in the stuff!)

Mary: lovely to see you, and how wonderful that things are settling down for you since your laser eye surgery. So glad you had a lovely weekend with your sisters. xx

Just to say to everyone who wished my daughter a happy birthday: thank you. xx She had the happiest birthday I have ever seen in her 20 years. Perhaps it is that she is growing up, and appreciates things more, I don't really know. But, yesterday, she was at her happiest - we had a lovely day. Her gorgeous boyfriend bought her (among other things) two tickets for Take That. He is unable to go to TT (he has a very good excuse!), so MsS has asked me to go with her! Very excited!

Ye gods - just looked at the clock - it's not even three o'clock yet ... what a long day this feels like!

Hi MTF (and anybody else out there)

I thought it was a bit quiet myself. Unfortunately, I'm only popping in quickly because it's quiz night tonight - we're on a roll at the moment, we beat the top of the table team last week (this is a local pub quiz league and all of the players on this team are ranked in the British quiz league.......) and the week before that we progressed to the plate final (this is played for by everybody who gets knocked out of the cup in the first round).

Tonight we are playing what is usually a good team - it depends who they bring along (if one of them is substituted, we may stand a better chance against them).

I'll pop in later (probably after everybody else has retired).

And a big HELLO to Annie, MTF, Bids, MTD, Sezza, CSN and anyone else I've missed :-)

Tonight's mood is a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, just had a lovely chat with my brother who was sounding happier than I've heard in a long time, which was lovely :-)

On the other, I might've been a bit harsh with a friend. She's a fitness nut who has done some serious damage to one of her tendons (or ligaments or something), but it still thinking of half and full marathons, despite the advice of her physio. Her other friends are all very sympathetic, but I'm afraid I've just told her not to be so stupid and to let herself get better first. I hope she'll take it in the spirit it's intended, and not be offended, but who knows...

Anyway, off to wind down for the night. Cheery-bye everyone xxx

AF: haven't sewn a button on in years! Don't really do "practical" sewing ;)

MTF: I'll stick some pics up on tother side at some point, might be a bit of a motivator if I take a pic every few days. If you have a hunt through my sewing pics up there already you'll find soon to be big sis's sampler. The same rabbit on hers is blue, I've just swopped some of the colours round before starting on this one. Might see if I can find 3 shades of other colours to add into this one to make it a bit different rather than just rotate the main colours round. Basically it's a bright and cheery design with some fairly recognisable animals on it (elephant anyone?) and some teddy bears. Hopefully something they won't be too ashamed to hang on to when they're older.

Think it's time a mug of hot choc has my name on... and since the cow biscuits don't seem to have had any ill effect from the other night I'll probably dunk a few more ;)

Gail - sorry to hear about your loss x x x

Well, I've gone and done an Annie - read and had a catch up and now can't remember anything - doh!

Couldn't blog yesterday as the office had eyes. Thankfully the eyes are out today so you're lumbered with me .....

It's damp and foggy here in the West Midlands - not good if you've got curly hair!

    Hi everyone:

Well, a wet, wet, wet Tuesday here in Glasgow. Absolutely no chance of my skin being affected by the sun!

mtd: hope you had success with the quiz. I don't know that I could go out anywhere at 8.20 in the evening - I used to be a real party animal, but now all I can think about is getting to bed early!

Bids: yes, Aunt Bessie is a regular visitor in our home - she's lovely! Nice to read about your day yesterday - I'm sure your friends really appreciated you visitng them.

Annie: ah, yes, a new t-shirt will be lovely. But, will it be of the same quality as my Osmonds' one? I think not - not too many t-shirts are Fruit of the Loom!

AF: hiya - oooh, I know, the thought of seeing Gary in the flesh is very exciting! Even though he'll be about 2 miles away in the huge stadium! Re: your friend, I think you have shown that you are a really good friend in being honest with her. Hopefully she will listen to you - it sounds like she is heading for a major injury. xx

MTF/Annie: re: you talking about the price of deisel. I have to say, I think it is absolutely horrific - the days of going out for a wee drive are in jeopardy, aren't they?! If my lovely dad was still here he would be saying "take to the streets in protest" but I know I won't do that, but I will moan about it!

kks: thinking of you - I can see this is a nightmare for you.

CSN: hope you are feeling a little better today.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    C xx

Chrissie, I went out for a wee drive on Saturday night (I was bored), and ended up doing 60 miles! Will need more petrol sooner than usual :-( xx

AF: it's terrible, isn't it? Whereas before you would just get in the car and not even think about it, now it's a real problem. As much as I love this country, I do believe that we are ripped off at every turn!

Oooh, I think I might be moaning a wee bit today!

    Hiya Cheryl!

    C xx

P.S. Bingo, have a great holiday!

I'm in a moanie mood too ..... not feeling 100% but fighting it. Unsuccessfully at the mo!

Mini Rant: colleague was off yesterday with laryngitis. She's come back today and can hardly speak. I'm furious and think she should have stayed at home so as not to pass on her germs to the rest of us. Thanks to my bout of not-wellness in Feb, I can't have any more time off ill this year or else I won't get paid, and can ill afford to lose any pay.

    But hey ho!

Driving: I don't think I do 60 miles in a week - about the only good thing about my job, given that it's a 5 minute walk from the house!

Hello there Ms Deev, lovely to "see" you! I'm afraid my trip to work and back is a 30 mile round trip...

We've just had a travel survey at work, and one of the questions was along the lines of, given the same postal address, what would be your preferred method of travel to work. I know it's not PC these days to say well akshually, I like driving in my car, but I do. And it's just not practical for me to walk or cycle to work!

They did a similar survey when I worked in Local Government dahn in Suffolk, with a view to introducing a green car share/travel policy for Council employees. It was a bit of a non starter from the off really, given the extreme rural nature of the location (the staff and offices) and also the flexi working time arrangements available to staff.

If anything, it just highlighted how much more needed to be done in terms of public transport and car parking spaces!

Cheryl, I completely agree about your colleague coming to work ill. It is just so irresponsible and it really makes me seethe! Of course, the problem is that our bosses don't believe us when we say we are ill, so you have to go back to work, too early, to prove you are not well!

    It's crazy!
