Back to work for just the one day and already...

Chris Evans | 10:16 UK time, Tuesday, 28 July 2009

... the mad dreams have come back.

Last night I dreamt I was playing golf with Tiger Woods and John Daly. We were all square going on to the eighteenth - Tiger hadn't said a word to either of us whereas John could not have been nicer.

The two of them had teed off and now it was my turn - all I had to do was get it on the fairway, something I had been doing for the whole of the rest of the round but every time I stepped up to take my shot - my head fell off.

As this kept happening John was finding it harder and harder to hold in the laughter, whereas Tiger was becoming increasingly impatient. I decided to try one more time but once again as I addressed the ball...for no reason at all my head fell off.

Even John had had enough by now and called Tiger to play on without me. All I remember is the crowd all walking by my head and my two golfing heroes striding off to complete the round without me.

I looked to my body for some support but it just held its hands out as if to ask what the hell was I playing at - then I woke up.

Who needs sleep like that ?

Have a nice day.

    Morning all

Where's your head at now CLP! Hopefully well and truly on your body. That dream is enough to give the heebies jeebies.

Was great to hear your dulcit(sp) tones again last night. The ironing was done in double quick time AND tea dinner was cooking at the same time!

Sun is out atm here in Norfamps - hope it lasts the day.

    Howdie Christophe ....

I'm kinda wondering ...... did you have a secret yearning to be Worzel Gummidge in your yoof? Many heads to suit whichever mood?!?!?

I too had a weird dream last night, that kept me awake from about 4am. In the real world, I'm having dinner tomorrow night with a very good friend at a local pub. In my dream, she kept telling me off, lecturing me, getting all righteous over me and saying I'm a bad bad girl.

    What's THAT all about?!?!?

    Laters sweetpeas.

CLP - no idea about your dream - are you feeling insecure about something?

    Morning lovelies.

First off, let me send big hugs to {{{{{{{Hazel}}}}}}}} for being poorly. My herbal medicine bible says that you should eat lots of oatmeal, muesli and yoghurt, and take l-lysine, 500mg twice daily. You can also dab on diluted tea tree oil. anyway, hope you're on the mend sweetheart.

I'm jolly tired this morning. Need a holiday to get over the holiday.

I too had a bizarre dream in which I made peace with my dad (who's been dead for nearly 30 years) - strange but good.

I have been absent for very long time. So very sorry, I know I prob wasn't missed as don't write lots anyway, but not even been on to check up on you all! and now a brand new strange looking blog?!

CLP - fantastic to have you back. And your dream story today just made me laugh so much! A very visual pic in my head now of your head lying on the tee, and all around life carried on as normal! Is this what it means...you have lost your head while all around you carry on as normal?!

Anyway, hello to all and I've missed you. Good to see the regs are still here and some newbies too.

    Chris,

I can't interpret dreams, but I do believe that dream of yours was your subconscious "catching up" with the fantastic experience you had at the Open this year. Can't explain why your head would fall off though - wonder if Baggy had a point with her post #9?

And, Baggy, hope things are ok for you - not as bad as it seems.

TipTopWestie: 8 hours sleep - you lucky thing, you! I managed 4 hours last night and that was something of a miracle. Woke up at 2.30am and then spent the next four hours worrying about everything - even stuff that is nothing to do with me!

Would someone explain the Wii thing please?

Is it meant to be just for fun or to get fit or both? I tried the golf one at a friend's house and, well, just how exciting can it get? Perhaps, I needed to play whole round to 'get the benefit'. I know people talk very excitedly about them and just wondered if some kind person would fill me in please.

    Thank you very much

  • Comment number 49.

Thanks Pen - I was bored!!

Beany - Glad you asked, I was wondering that as well. Is it good for Bingo wings Scoobs?

    Darce xx

  • Comment number 50.

Beany..i have never been a `games` person but we bought a Wii 2 weeks ago and its a fab piece of kit. You can get keep fit packages, games (like scrabble etc), sports stuff, music and loads of other things..the list really is endless.

I was a bit sceptical at first but the sports one has won me over. The golf etc seems a bit faffy at first but once you get into it, trying to hit the ball straight, beat your score etc is strangely addictive..well in Scoobs world anyway! Think it also helps that i seem to beat my GM on most things weve played so far!

So, if you want a bit of fun it can be that..but i also know people who have lost weight by doing the `fit` thing on it. Seems to be a good alround machine imho.

Dont know if that helps but thats my thoughts..!

    mSc x

Talking of Bingo wings - has he flown away? Where are you Bingles? INDEED, we are missing your posts!!

  • Comment number 53.

Thanks Scoobs. Yes it does help.

I am very competitive....apparently ;-) so it sounds like the sort of thing I could get hooked on, although as a (once) sporty type, its hard to think that you can beat the real thing. But I guess you have the option of trying a variety of different things without having to buy the kit, pay the subs, etc, etc. I will investigate further! Does the loser buy the next round though???

  • Comment number 54.

i got a wii and a wiifit for my birthday in Dec, being able to monitor my weight and have half hour sessions really helped in losing weight as I could keep an eye on it and it records everything you do which makes oyu want to beat yourself!

Well the sun came and went - chucked it down just when I went to post tonight!!!
I have a lounge/dining room - decs finished - however stuff from hall now plonked in there - together with 15 rolls of paper. Yes - I found it after being on phone/internet all morning. Just a smidge of a trip for Mr B to Stratford a mere 50 mins away!

JG - brilliant story re Finlay - made me giggle. Doggy arrived back tonight with Mr B - no carpet - hall/landing stairs. Bounded through kitchen - used to skidding on that floor - got the knack now - puts back leg out to act like a brake next to the bin!!! came to a grinding halt - one paw plus nose on to wood - not carpet!!! Hilarious! Number of times I wish I had a camera attached to me!!!

I would say that your dream is a manifistation of your inner turmoil regarding who you are and where you want to be.

Golf is a great love of your life and so provides the background. The two other players are metaphors for the two extremes in your life.

John Daley the big hitting, hard drinkinking, womanisinng gambler is the old you who used to hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Tiger Woods the sensible quiet and dignified athlete is the new you, settled, married and with a new baby.

However somewhere inside you are still torn between the two, you want to be Tiger Woods, but there is still still a bit of John Daley inside somewhere who is dying to get out, thus your head falls of in frustration.

She told me she worked in the morning and started to laugh.
I told her I didn't and crawled off to sleep in the bath
And when I awoke, I was alone, this bird had flown
So I lit a fire, isn't it good, norwegian wood

    Morning gang!

Thought a bit of Lennon & McCartney might be a nice way to start the morning so there you go .....

Me? Up at 6. Walked me 2 miles - in the rain, no less! Made lunches, washing pegged out (stopped raining by then) and now enjoying the morning quiet with a cup of coffee and the tippy tap of acrylic nails on this ere keyboard.

    Happy Hump Day!

it's funny - Wednesday is generally invoicing day, which indeed gives me the right hump. Apt!
