CH-CH-CH-CH-CH-CH-CHANGES

Chris Evans | 15:12 UK time, Monday, 17 March 2008

So another uncharacteristically sticky weekend in the Evans household but I think I know why...

... I put it down to three things that have changed.

1. I have stopped wearing the green leather belt my wife bought me.

2. I haven't worn my watch, which I really like, for the last week.

3. I have changed the screen saver on my phone that I've had up there for ever.

This morning I have re-righted all those wrongs. I await now for my world to fall back into place. Pleeeeease God.

How mad is the world at the moment ?

I once blamed the way i was driving for the number of rows i was having with the mrs in the car, this turned out to be wrong as when she wasnt in the car we still rowed on the phone. I think sometimes you just have to drink through it.

Sounds to me that you could be a tiny bit superstitious Chris.

Now I like a bit of live theatre now and again. On Friday went to see Dads Army. The actors were fab and a dead ringer for their parts. However the story line was rubbish. I could not make head nor tale of what was going on at all in the first half. It got better in the second half, but not that much. The whole cast was male, even a female part was played by a guy. I don’t know if it was supposed to be a guy in drag or just a man playing a part of a woman, totally confused on that one.

So busy this weekend even missed Sunday Love Songs. Was it Steve Wright or had Lulu got the day off from the Supermarket checkout.

Bingow ta man for fill in us in on Formula one. I only saw the photo’s of all the crashed cars mesen.

My world won't fall into place until I leave this job. I can't tell boss that I'm leaving until the end of the month as I want to finish the end of April. I feel so uncomfortable here and am dreading telling him! I don't think that he will take it well.

There is a clip of Torvill and Dean's original bolero dance in 1984 on youtube if anyone's interested by the way. Gives you goosebumps, it's brilliant!

My world at this point in time os rocked by one friend being diagnosed with breast cancer, another with prostate cancer and another having had a nervous breakdown amidst what outsiders would think of as a charmed life.

Meanwhile everything I'm touching, well... what's the opposite of the Midas Touch. If I'm not bein' chased by WW2 doodlebugs I'm being sent wrong information or goods, late.

Is it karma? Is it the Universe? Is it the approach of the end of the world as we know it?

I have no idea. But I look at it this way. For the moment at least I myself have my health, strength, eyesight, wherewithal and the brains to appreciate the above, and the blessing of a sense of humour with which to embellish the above and have a titter.

And if my biggest irritation in life is that I have acquired a phone which has a mind of its own, and have been highly inconvenienced for one evening and thus have been thrown into the path of some lovely new friends, I should consider myself a happy, charmed woman.

And yes indeed. Let's all butt out of the situation with the happily recovered little girl. It sounds a strange situation indeed; but none of us knows the details and nor do we Joe Public need to. Let's just hope the experts unravel and deal with it appropriately, save our kind and compassionate thoughts for those parents less fortunate who have lost their children forever, and meanwhile we should just do our damnedest to give our best to the most precious blessing we could ever be given, our babies.

Hello, Christof, Loved the chocolate interview today-listening to you sucking away(chocoalte that is) made me want some some but i'm diabetic and am trying to stay away from it!!
Chris you mentioned that the chocolate lady was bored with her job and thought"what can i do" i know i like chocolate etc etc..and it got me thinking that i love movies but would'nt want to work in a video store..so i'll have to keep thinking on that score..but it leads me nicely on to a subject i have wanted to write to you about for the few years! Ideas for a programme for you to make or produce!!! whether you are a movie buff or not i want a programme that will take me through the step by step stages of how films are made. yes,you say there have been loads like that...well as far as i am concerned NO!!!! i want a relaxed down to earth view of everything that happens..from the very start as follows:

1.How does a film studio pick the right film or at least think they have the right film script.
who are the people at the studios that pick the scripts-who is behind the scenes for this?
2.Once the script has been agreed who contacts the writer to let them know they are successful and how to they agree film fees? does the writer get to have a say in the outcome and if the scenes have to be re written is it the writer or a screen writer that decides on the final outcome..
3.next we need to see how the prepartions get under way-picking -(i want to see interviews with everyone the "grip boy) director/producer/actors/technicians etc and who looks after these people-how is the money ditributed-how is it decided the layout of the film and where it will be filmed.
4.who decides the actors are right and when the actors are picked who decides how they are paid-what they where-what they can keep after filming.
    5. Who decides how the actors will get together for rehearsals-do all actors rehearse before a film even A listers? what if they dont like each other?
6.What about the Technicians -who tells them where to meet on first day of shoot and what to build or fix etc etc..
7.How do the director /producer come up with there visions for filminging /ideas etc...

I'm sure you get the gist of this Chris and i hope you think it would be a good idea for a weekly series perhaps on bbc or even Channel 4 etc as long as its interesting relavant informative with a sense of humour... it will be snapped up!! I genuinely think this is something you can do- i did decide between yourself and Jonathon Ross but i dont think he has the right direction humour and indepth forward thinking as yourself...

Please let me know what you think Chris ..if its a good idea please put me on the payroll my embarrassing monthly work salary could do with a boost ...Ruth x x

Debbie - no, Grumpy Boss Man probably WON'T take it nicely but that's his problem. He can't stop you from resigning. Good luck.

Clodagh - you have such an inspirational attitude. Plus, the opposite of the Midas Touch? How about the James Blunt touch, i.e. everything he touches turns to s**t?
And Santa on a cross? Hilarious!

On a seperate note, can anyone recommend any films that I may like? Nothing too gory or scary (i.e. films that won't freak me out when watching alone).

    Mornin' all.

Just a quickie regarding the hair-washing item yesterday.

A year or so ago I didn't wash my hair for 4 weeks for a bet.

The first week it was mingin', as the daughter delicately puts it. However, as the time passed it bucked up and was totally fine. I could manipulate it really easily into different styles and the only problem was that it was slightly smelly and felt unpleasant for the first week. And it wasn't that I became acclimatised to it; the daughter, brutal in her general assessments of her mummy, would concur.

I have to admit it's nice to feel your hair clean and glossy after it's just washed but really, it just feels different, not unpleasant.

I only finally washed it in the fifth week because I needed it trimmed, and didn't think it quite fair to subject the poor hairdresser to my unwashed mop.

Whereupon said hairdresser declared, "Ooh, your hair's in good nick. What've you been using?"

Now I only wash it once a week, twice occasionally if I'm off somewhere I have to scrub up.

AND. Girls. Try Horse Shampoo. Honest. Tail and Mane Shampoo, FAB. Looks a bit dodgy on the bathroom shelf and you'll be chewin' sugar lumps and snortin' but your hair'll be dead wafty.

Sometimes I wonder is it just 'cos am gettin' older yer become more aware of things going on in ther world & it's always been this crazy or is it really getting more mad.
I seems the latte, sorry latter, ter me - we do seem ter be steam rollin' ter something - but who knows, who knows, I don't.

Seriously though, look at those terribly 'ard done children on the Sport Relief the other night.

The world is mad - Bush & all the mad world banks are throwing away billions at present 'cos of all their greed 'as gone pop, while children in other parts of the world are in total poverty - DISGUSTING!!!!!! (ave a spelt disgusting correct?).
Remember the Live8 concert were I think it was, a very small in world terms, $120billion dollors needed ter right of all of the Afircan debt and the politicians ave failed ter keep their promises ter right it off - Bush in particular!

Maybe the karma is now catching up with america & it does seem like the Nostradamus prediction of americas economic destruction is maybe coming true?
Who knows but sadly it'll be the ordinary americans who suffer while Bush, who when 'e leaves office, gets a golden 'andshank for all the mess & war 'e's 'elped ter create - if that's not a mad world....... i'm not damn sane!

    'ope this 'elps!
