WHY THE BIG...... oh no, don't worry I'm not going to go here.

Just been down to the phone rooms to see the children in needers, they are the best, I always well up when I go down there, it's sll the love that's in the air.

Now here's what they said,

"Last year when we went on the air the phone lines went mad, so we san't wait for five o'clock," so no pressure then.

Listen, have a great weekend, I must dash, we have an ALL REQUEST FRIDAY WITH A TWIST to sort out.

With your creativity and orginality can you please please do something about the tired old format of Children in Need. It was sooooo boring and embarrassing. Ha ha dancing newsreaders - Morecambe and Wise did that 30 years ago; Dr Who was simply a 5 minute ad for the Christmas special and don't get me started on the Spices miming and who couldn't even be bothered to be in the UK? Who the hell booked them? Yes it is a good cause, and for me the best bits are the kids who have been helped - but it hasn't changed since the very first one - and I remember being on a night shift for that one and how exciting it was.

And I'll match Denise #1 - us Yorkshire lasses are not mean!

Mange tout and a bit of sour cream! xx

Hiya all...........well I will round it up to £20!

I watched the whole programme and cried when the children's stories were featured.

Interested to see the Spics Girls but didn't feel they were "a unit" just seemed strange.

I thought Terry should have had a rest instead of doing "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" He was clearly very tired.....

Didn't you fancy doing a stint Chris? You would have been great in the quiz!

    What did everybody else think?

  19. At 06:09 PM on 17 Nov 2007, Debbie wrote:

    Hi there,

Denise, I agree that Terry looked like he didn't want to be part of the Buzzcocks thing at all.

The children's stories get me every time without fail. I don't think that there were as many this year though. It seemed to be more about entertainment and big names and I think it should go back to reminding us more about why we are watching in the first place.

I don't mean that I want to sit in tears at the misfortune of others, just see more about the different causes and success stories from over the years.

The Spice Girls were ok, think it would have been better if they had of been in the studio though. I'm not too sure about their new single, Take That, I think had a better comeback single.

Watched as much as I could, but little man has gastroenteritis and I was looking after him mostly. Anyone have any ideas how to get him to drink dioralyte? He is playing me up something rotton. He has just fallen asleep bless him.

Off now to rest before he wakes up again,
    Love
    Debbie x

    PS. Denise, weldone again x

Yep I agree chaps - Take That would have been fantastic - Little Mark on the brit awards was worth a mega donation. Denise et al -I'll hit the £20 too. i'm sure the plastic can accomadate that. Come on Chris - loads of soap casts doing really bad cover versions is pretty much lowest common denominator. What happened to whistle idol or sofa lifting - just too bloody smug. Don't want to make the CR comparison.

Debbie - stick to the water to start with, once that is staying down, then worry about the electrolytes. (Mother of 4 speaking here and they still wake me up at night and the youngest is 19!)

I seem to have slipped into the miserable old git mode - but it ain't true.

Penguin, thanks for the tip. The doctor at the emergency walk in centre put the fear of god into me when he mentioned admiting him to hospital. He perscribed the dioralyte so I have been fighting with little man all day with it! I shall concentrate more on the water then. Thanks again xx

Greetings Ter ALL On A Most Beautifullly Sunny Sundee,

Am ere with me latest astro reading - sorry for the delay.
First it was Children In Need then I ran outta Mr Sheen ploish but i've found some car wax extra gloss protection ter get The Bingo Crystal Ball Of.... The Zodiac.... glowing!!!!

Ok ere goes.... rub, rub, squeak, squeak, squeak, ploish, ploish, rub, damn rub..... ok I can see bow.... no rewind bow.... Craig David? No 'old on am getting Radio 4.... The Archers... 'old on, 'old on..... i've got it... it's The Archer with a bow n' arrow.... it's Sagittarius!!!!

This is ChrissieS & EmM who's on the cusp of Sagittarius/Capricorn.

EmM - Ter answer yer question from the other week. Being on the cusp does make a difference abit. You will have abit of both signs but more of the one that you were actually born in.
Unless you were born at dead on midnight on the 21st of December. Then it would be very equal 50/50 of each!
Yer'd probally be as confused and demented as me then!!!
On top of this we all have bits of different signs in our astro make up depending on the date and time we were born but our main sign is what applies to us the most/ rules us the most. 'ope this 'elps!

Sagittarius iz the known as the friendliest of all the 12 zodiac signs.
A sagittarian will always 'elp and go out of their way to be of assistance to any one in need of..... assistance. They rarely suffer from jealousy of anothers success... making for perhaps the nicest of all the signs.
They are optimists by nature/ postive and generous but sometimes to care free which can lead them inter trouble. (Bit like Ray Lamontagne with 'is recent top10 Trouble tune)!
Sag dudes are clear thinking broadminded thinkers, open 'earted too.
Also known as being romantic, extroverted, make great entertainers, creative, talkative but can be impatient.

Leisure Activities - Parties, love socalising and lots of people around them, perfumes & beauty, food & drink, travelling, gambling/ risk taking for fun, animals, the outdoors, religion, spirital movements, exploration, foreign languages.

Illness linked with Sagittarians - Pelvis, hips, thighs, femur & sciatic nerve.

Careers that sagittarians are best suited if they are typical of their sign - anything to do with animals like vet, breeding animals, physical outdoor jobs, sales, jobs that invlove travel. A travel rep would be very up the street of a Sagittarius - with lots of people & travelling (when I say up their street.... well it would probally be in a foreign street!!!)

Famous Females Sagittarians - Tina Turner, Nelly Furtado, Kim Basinger, Judy Dench, Bette Midler, Natasha Bedingfield, Jane Austen, Christina Aguillera, Britney Spears, Sinead O'Connor & Jane Fonda.

Famous Male Sagittarians - Micheal Owen, Walt Disney, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Steven Speilberg, Ozzy Ozbourne, Keith Richards, Uri Geller, Woody Allen, Ludwig van Beethoven & Sammy Davis Jnr.

    'ope this 'elps ter all!!!!!

I'll bang me next on on Tue if me computer doen't blow up again!!!!!

Here in Scotland for Children In Need we had the most shocking examples of how NOT to do continuity that I have EVER EVER EVER seen!!! I'm all for regional programming , but not at the expense of the main programme and one's enjoyment of that! Every time they handed back to London, the song or item had already started! Now how unprofessional and amateurish is that!?

Have to say I didn't see the last hour or so as I fell asleep with the wee lass!!!

    Facebook Group? Great idea!!!!

Haven't quite got the hang of facebook yet, probably sending all sorts of weird and wonderful things out to my friends! But otherwise think that it's a great idea. If anyone receives a 'punch' or 'tickle' it's probably just me practicing.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm sort of glad to be back at work today actually (that could change!) Been looking after poorly little man who I'm pleased to say is much better today. Well enough to go to the childminder but not allowed back at school.

I have some really busy evenings this week too. Have received some orders for Christmas Cards so have to get my creative head on at some point.....

    Have a good day

Susan, will look you up on facebook - and hunt for the group too.

    Hi Chris
I've been out of touch for a while but now I'm checking back in and hope to find space to make regular visits to your blog once again.
I've looked over blogs for the past two weeks to get me up to date and I'd like to add to the list of must see films Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Girl on A Bridge.
In my opinion the former boasts the single most scary character in film history - the childcatcher. The master of Bond, Ian Fleming, wrote Chitty for his children and it contains all the components necessary for a great film. There's an interesting reason why he called it Chitty Chitty Bang Bang too........
The latter is a subtitled French film - La Fille Sur Le Pont. I watch lots of these to keep up my french language skills. It stars the lovely Mrs Depp and the De Niro-esque Daniel Ateuil. It's shot in monochrome for that up close and personal feel. A great girl/boy film.
My latest cinema experience is Control - the docu-film about the life of Ian Curtis of Joy Division fame. Tears, laughter, confusion, frustration. The film takes you on a bit of a journey and as a big JD fan I loved it.

I'd also like to join the raffle for your mate John f it's not already been drawn. It's what you said about his voice that did it for me. 'Gruff'. Some of my male friends often leave me messages in a Scottish accent because I love it so much. None are ever gruff enough for me though. Perhaps your mate John could just leave me a message?
I am 44, single and south-east London based with a son of 22 who is training to be a sommelier and promoting new bands in SE London (New Cross is the new Camden don't you know!) both of which I get quite involved with. My parents are available to check my fine pedigree too. I love all things French and I'm planing my 2nd 3 week road trip around France in a camper van next August. I like my man to cook but consider all other domestics to be woman's work. I can't get on with these 'modern men'. I get shouted down by my female friends so often for having this opinion but seeing men hanging out washing, hoovering, making the bed, ironing.......it all looks too wierd to me!
Now I've spent my lunch hour catching up I do hope that I manage to keep up with you in future.
Keep up the fine work keeping so many people happy on the roads.
    TTFN
    Debs x

PS When's the raffle being drawn?
