Usher

OK, here's the deal. Next week we will be interviewing Usher. Yup, THE Usher.

I believe the phrase you are looking for begins with an O and ends with a MG.

Now, this is the kind of experience which should be shared, so we'd like to throw this open to everyone. If you have a question you would like us to put to Usher, just whack it in the comments box below, and we'll do our level best to ask as many of them as we can.

Easy peasy!

NOTE: We'll stop taking questions by 6pm on Friday June 4th.

ANOTHER NOTE: By all means put in unhelpful questions if you like, but we probably won't take them with us, just saying...

once, whilst dancing on a night out i tried putting my hands up, bending my knees and dancing round in a circle, as told by usher's song- u turn. However all i recieved was odd looks, has Usher ever successfully completed this move and looked half decent?

    Hold UP!

Where's the Eurovision review? COUGH COUGH I need to slate at least SOMETHING this morning!

  • Comment number 3.

Ask him what the next UK single will be. It better be better than OMG!

  • Comment number 4.

Ask him how he feels being responsible for bringing the atrocity that is "Justin Bieber" into the charts. Also how responsible does he feel for him, with him being 15, and what measures are in place to stop a complete and utter disaster happening to the mental health of a 15 year old are in place?

    I wish.

  • Comment number 5.

Kudos to that Liam, look what happened to all these child prodigées.

Britney: Started off at 14; many hit singles; weight issues due to stresses of fame on young shoulders; broke down; suspected asylum seaker ("I speak to trees"); shaved head; got a bit crap since her 'comeback'.

Lindsey Lohan: Started off at 11; few films; drugs abuse; alcoholism; lesbianism; public hatred (something I've never quite understood - Lindsey was stunning); High Court Order for eher arrest, which she tried and failed to dodge.

Macauley Culkin: Started off at 8; had a bright future with the '³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Alone' franchise, few more films; befriended the greatest pop star of all time - Michael Jackson; drugs abuse; finished.

JonBenét Ramsey: 6-year old model paraded to the world by here disgustingly money-seeking parents; featured in many magazines and even some cat-walks, hired by modelling agency at 6; months later she was brutally murdered and no-one knows who, why or how.

Mara Wilson (better known to you and me as 'Matilda'): three hugely popular films between 1993-1999; fell in love with the stage; fame got to her; sang 'Make 'Em Laugh' at the Academy Awards; dissappeared from public view since.

Michael Jackson: Even the great have their fair share of slander - started performed live shows at 8, grew up to be a hugely influential artist; eventually took a break from music; few films; return to music with 'Black or White'; Court Conviction of paedophilia (don't believe it for one second); comeback tour; a tragic death weeks before the big debut.

What we're trying to say, is, even some of the most popular pop stars and actors and actresses can't rise on and on forever. Does he think he's putting too much pressure on a young person's shoulders is healthy? Will Justin Bieber be the next to have a break-down caused by the paparazzi (there's a lot to be learnt from that song m'dears)?

  • Comment number 6.

    New here!

Anyway, one of my all time favourite songs is Confessions Part III by the great Weird Al. What is Usher's opinion on this hilarious parody?

  • Comment number 7.

Oh for goodness sake, I spent AGES on that last post. Why was it deleted? It was perfectly truthful, just a little on the rise and fall of child prodigies like Britney Spears, Macauley Culkin, Lindsey Lohan, Mara Wilson etc., and then someone goes and deletes a perfectly valid comment.

    GUH!

  • Comment number 8.

Usher, what is your favourite album by Emerson Lake and Palmer? Are you a standard fan into Brain Salad Surgery or are do you find the narrative coherence of Tarkus more to your liking?

  • Comment number 9.

    Hi Usher . . .

Are the following lyrics , the best lines to ever be used in a pop song ,like , ever ?

    " Honey's got a booty like pow , pow , pow
Honey's got boobies like wow wow wow ! "

Do you think these killer lines show songwriting ability of heavenly standard ?

  • Comment number 10.

People from 'da hood' don't say 'boobies'.

    They say:

    Jugulars
    Jugs
    Tits
    Rack
    Over-Shoulder Boulders
    or Bee-stings

    Take your pick...

  • Comment number 11.

Ahh Oddone. I learnt long ago, save any mildly controversial posts on your PC, just incase they get deleted. Then post them in chunks, work out which the offensive chunk was, edit and repost.

  • Comment number 12.

Thanks Liam, I was really proud on that post aswell, had a lot of meaning to it, and all I was doing was backing up your question with evidence that the rise and fall of teenaged progidies are well-documented.

  • Comment number 13.

It might be back, it's only been referred at the moment.

  • Comment number 14.

    @10

Oddone , you have offered "bee stings ","jugs" and a "rack" , and asked me to take my pick .

No surprise , I am probably gonna opt for the "rack ".

Can I GO LARGE , for an extra 50p ?

    :D

  • Comment number 15.

Nah mate, I'm stingy now, inflation 'n'all.

If you wanna gio large I'll do it for 5 quid.

    :D:D

  • Comment number 16.

Do you think that the coalition government has ushered in a new age of politics?

    or

Why don't you sing more songs about nature? I mean, the urban environment is OK, but what about getting outdoors and seeing the sunrise over Snowdonia, and singing about that?

  • Comment number 17.

Or ask him about Justin Bieber's Tattoo!

  • Comment number 18.

Ha! I LOVE the nature question. This is officially the standard everyone has to match.

  • Comment number 19.

What? (say as flatly as you can)

In all seriousness, who does that?

  • Comment number 20.

I have a question: Ask him where Justin Boobface went to school.

I'm sure he'd love to explain what made his potegée answer the question 'Did you learn German at school?' with 'What? Oh, German? I like basketball, if that's what you mean'.

Some fog needs clearing me thinks.

  • Comment number 21.

Out of these options who would Usher, Snog, Marry or Avoid? Susan Boyle, Anne Robinson and The Queen

  • Comment number 22.

  • Comment number 24.

    YAY! MY COMMENT IS BACK!

Now re-reading it, it does seem very... eloquent maybe?

Ah well, I just hope I get the point across.

  • Comment number 25.

Hey Usher!! Well most people have a dream...and im not asking this for you to make it come true...but ur dance moves are incredible! Im a dancer! but i also have questions for you:
What was your dream before you became so famous?
And did you invent all your dance moves yourself?

  • Comment number 26.

  • Comment number 27.

  • Comment number 28.

    Heyya Usher,

I would love to see you live, when will you be touring the UK??

    Kajal xx

  • Comment number 29.

    Hi,

I was wondering if you would ever consider working with a rock band such as Blink 182 or Good Charlotte and why.

    Thanks

  • Comment number 30.

    Hey,
    My question to Usher is:

Which country is going to win the world cup in your opinion?

    xx

  • Comment number 31.

    What's up Usher,

What is the next single in the UK? Is it going to be Lil' Freak? I also heard something about Guilty being released. Is that true?

    Huge fan of yours.

  • Comment number 32.

Ask- if the music industry had not worked out for you what would you have done?

  • Comment number 33.

The interview (or a ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ interview with Usher) starts EXTEMELY SOON on Radio 1. Tune in to see if your question got asked! I know I will!

  • Comment number 34.

    It's on... NOW.

  • Comment number 35.

Serious Question: if you could've written any song what would it be?

  • Comment number 36.

Was there something that you've always wanted to do, but have never had the chance to? If so, what's stopping you from doing it now?

    x Peppermiint :)
