Grace - JP over THERE

In some ways, forcing an up and coming band to take the ChartBlog email questionnaire live on the phone (rather than having the time to concoct amazing answers over email, as you'd expect) is a cruel torture indeed.

This is because some of the questions are specifically about the act of emailing, some of them rely on the person who is answering them being able to look back over questions they've been asked, and some of them are just really odd.

Not that any of this stopped me from taking my trusty questions to JP Jones, the lead singer of post-Coldplay big indie boys Grace. And this is because sometimes, cruel torture can be a real test of character.*

The good news is JP passed, with flying colours!

JPWhat I Expected: Well it's pretty confusing questionnaire, even if you ARE emailing back. So doing it over the phone is always a bit of white-knuckle ride. This was no exception...
What I Did Not Expect: People do insist on getting names wrong. First it was my name, then JP didn't seem sure what his own name actually is, and the story of how he GOT his name is just plain weird.

Here's the video for 'Sink Like A Stone', which is out on September 3rd.

*Despite what I said above, ChartBlog does NOT endorse torture, cruel or otherwise. Torture is bad. It hurts. Do NOT torture anyone ever. It's the height of bad manners.
