Steve Backshall doing a handstand on top of a tall pole

Steve during this week's Beat Backshall

In this week's Beat Backshall, Steve had to do a handstand on top of a tall pole, whilst he answered your questions. He only got one of the 5 questions wrong and that was: What is the slowest flying bird in the world? The answer is the woodcock.

The other questions he got right were:

  • How long is a gannet's wingspan?
  • Answer - 2m
  • Which big cat cannot retract its claws?
  • Answer - Cheetah
  • How big can crocodiles grow?
  • Answer - Around 6m
  • Why do camels have humps?
  • Answer - These are fat reserves which they can metabolise into water

So do you have a corker of a question that can beat boffinÌýBackshall? Send them in now!
