Mumbai: Day 1

Raj&Pablo | 14:42 UK time, Tuesday, 24 February 2009

We are writing this at 8.00pm Mumbai time - the sun is just setting on the Arabian Sea -and we are feeling on top of the world - Mumbai is one of our favourite cities and we are home in the city of celluloid dreams - it takes your breath away. We are getting suited and booted and off to see a dear friend - Rachel Dwyer at Olive.

Raj: The first day has been hectic - recovering from jetlagged - landed at midnight, at hotel for 2.00 am unpacked for 3.00am, woke up at 7.00 am and bleary eyed for our first round of production meetings at 9.00am. But its all worthwhile - Mumbai revitalises in the same way as New York - the hustle, the bustle, the glamour the glitz the energy is amazing. Pleased to say nothing has diminished the vitality of the city - expect that theirs more visible security everywhere. The buzz in town is all about Slumdog - and the debate rages on - is it going to be groundbreaking for Bollywood. The latest is that Javed Akhter will be throwing the cast and crew - who promised to return to India after LA a star studded party. Watch this space.

lakia.jpgPablo: After the initial shock of the heat - it washes all over you and warms you to your very bone - I feel totally re energised. The first day has been hectic - sorting out technicals, setting up the studios; setting up meetings. Lots of SMS on our Indian mobile from our friends - the word is out - we are here! Spent most of the morning with Raj replying- and it was wonderful to see Apporva Lakhia director of Mission Istanbul, today who gave us the top tips on what is in and what's not.

Love Us, Love Bollywood

Raj&Pablo xx
