So what's it all about? Well, show revolves around this 17-year-old geek called Paul who sees vengeful spirits or Fades and basically gets embroiled in a battle between the living and the dead. Having said that, the show is also about the bromance going on with Paul, played by Lip Service's Iain de Caestecker, and his best mate Mac, played by Skins' Daniel Kauuya.
The rest of The Fades cast list is just as impressive.
- Miranda heartthrob Tom Ellis (Harley Street, Merlin) who plays Mark, a teacher under suspicion when his ex-wife Sarah (played by The Tudors' Natalie Dormer) goes missing and is feared dead.
- Johnny Harris (This is England '86, Spartacus) who is Neil, a lone warrior against the forces of darkness, who becomes Paul's unlikely mentor.
- Daniela Nardini (This Life, A Street Car Named Desire) plays Helen and like Paul she also has an extraordinary ability which will prove useful in the fight to save mankind.
- Lily Loveless (Skins) who plays Anna, Paul's fierce twin sister who finds being related to someone like Paul rather annoying.
- Sophie Wu (Kick Ass) plays Paul's love interest, Jay.
The series is written by Jack Thorne, who's also written This Is England '86, Skins, The Scouting Book For Boys and Cast Offs.

This programme blatantly advertised a specific brand of cigarette and promoted them to teenagers by showing underage teenagers buying them in a newsagents. The programme went on to promote smoking by including script where the main character explains he is trying to start smoking to a very pretty girl he is keen to impress, and who also smokes.
I watched this with my teenage son and was horrified that the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ would firstly show a programme promoting cigarettes to the young and secondly, given that I pay for a licence and thus avoid advertising on ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ TV, the programme very deliberately sets out to sell a specific brand. Please don't try to justify as appropriate to the storyline...it isn't. Take this programme off air! It is shocking that ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ should associate itself with a product that is a major and direct factor in a number of fatal diseases, and take part in encouraging young people to take up smoking with all the proven dangers. Extremely irresponsible doesn't begin to cover it, but maybe dishonest and immoral does.

WITCHING HOUR
Series One
THE BRIEF
Witching Hour is a stylish, dark 6 x 60 minute supernatural series that focuses on L a regular guy who works as a private detective taking over his family run private detective agency Witching Hour. While most people see assaults, kidnappings or murders as the work of people with a depraved indifference for human pain, he is more likely to see them as the work of supernatural villains.
This is because his family was killed by these things. And he is the only one listed in the London phone book who knows about the supernatural. Detective Inspector
Ellie Pearson regularly employs him as a consultant to help battle
the dark forces during the witching hour.

It had the right balance of action, comedy and drama. Paul, the main character, is likeable and I'm sure many people can relate to him in some way or another. It was a great way to start the series, possibly my favourite Pilot ever, and it seems like the best is yet to come!
Your idea sounds like something I would love to watch. Do you have an idea where you want the series to go in terms of plot? I can almost picture this in my head! I have an idea for a TV show too, it has a supernatural element, the main character is a ghost. Most ghosts haunt buildings, I was going to have her haunt a young man who received an organ transplant, one that belonged to her. I'm hoping to end the series with her in Purgatory. We'll see.
Best of luck with Witching Hour, I hope it all goes well for you! XO

The characterisations are excellent, and the basic premise is very interesting... not to say novel. " The dead can't pass on because man has concreted over the portals". Lets screw the planet up for the dead as well as for the living? Ep. 2 did a great job of progressing the storyline along and I am looking forward to Ep. 3 on Wed night... I just hope that we are not going to get another situation where a popular show fails to get re commissioned because, either the boss doesn't like it ( Usual for shows of a supernatural flavour) or "They" want to make room / free up money for another mind numbing, intellect dissolving 'reality' show or game show.
The Fades is great TV It keeps you guessing about it's next direction... Don't mess this one up ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ you have winner with this one.
