    I feel this goes against the purpose of the licence fee which is to provide these services on a universal basis to all based on the licence fee.

    Isn't that a bit of a 'two-tier' service ie a basic telly for £140 and then additional services like iplayer for those who can afford it?

    BT's announcement could be the thin end of the wedge. What's now to stop a broadband provider announcing similar extra charges for iplayer use?
