Driving Rude

Hello. It's a bit strange writing this as I'm not quite sure how many of you read it? So, please please will you leave a comment below to say you have done. Maybe there's a particular topic you'd like me to consider for my next blog? As you can tell I'm quickly running out of ideas. So I guess I'll just write and see what happens.

Let's start with the weekend. I went to Leeds. I get a little scared of going to Leeds. I used to live there and have a few ghosts in the closet... if you know what I mean? Alas, it was fun. I was attending my friend's daughter's 1st birthday party. Kids party in the day. Adult party in the afternoon -Ìý which thankfully didn't quite live up to the billing of 'adult' party. I met some great new people. I am in the zone for new people. Do you know what I mean? There are some days when I can't be bothered meeting new people. I just close up. Do you? Or is it just me? Other days I could make friends with the rudest taxi driver!

Talking of rude taxi drivers. Get this. I have a cab pick me up at 4.45am. 4.49 am I step outside my flat. He is nowhere to be seen despite me getting an automated call saying he is outside. I call the firm. They realise he is 50 yards down the road unable to find the flat. It's snowing and is icy so they ask him to turn around. He doesn't, so I have to walk the extra 50 yards down the icy road. I get in the cab and greet the driver but in reply there is not even a "hello" from him let alone a "sorry mate, couldn't see the front door...". So I'm in the cab wondering when I get out do I say "thank you?" Does he deserve it? Discuss. Please. Will fill you in tomorrow, but for now I must go as my cab is waiting...I think.

Love ya,

Adil
xx

Hey Adil, I want to know more about your childhood :D What kind of kid were you when you were young? I guess you are quiet adventurous and rebellious...... lol

Hey Adil I think that all your listeners that can read are eating up your every word for breakfast. I still can't believe you are gone from my afternoons, I leave for work at 6.30 so hardly get to hear you, but usually catch your podcasts.

I want to know if you body has adjusted yet to the early mornings.

I am a real night owl and started working early mornings a year ago. I still find myself waking up at a ridiculous time on the weekend when I could be sleeping in, then I just walk around doing the most pointless things and annoying the hell out of everybody. My brain never comes to life until at least 1pm, kind of like Wax.

Love you all, keep up the good work, and slip a few more packets of sugar in your coffees.

Hello Adil, wanted to comment on the Explore "Turkey on the edge" programme. Sorry as a technophobe I could only contact you via this! I really enjoyed your programme. I am actually a convert to Islam having been border line atheist. I am so proud to be Muslim- why- because of the emphasis on peace and enjoying all of humanity, not in getting caught up in the trivia and superstitions of life. Of the belief that we were all made different so that we can learn from each other. I actually refuse to cover my head (except in prayer!) for a variety of reasons to complex to cover in a blog-but the main one being that I have met Muslim women that wish they had the FREEDOM to choose NOT to cover their heads. Also- why is it women that do this. For example, why don't modern Muslim men dress as traditional Arabs? Why don't converts like me get heard?
