It's a great Christmas present, but please let us know if you're ever going to come back with a regular weekly show and podcast. The squadron has been poised for nearly a year now...

Okay folks, my advice is to make sure ALL presents are unwrapped either before 10am or saved till after 1pm, if you wish to avoid the rustling of paper during the main event. And hide the batteries so the kids can't play with anything noisy during the show.

There are two reasons why Adam and Joe might not come back. 6 Music don't want them back (this would only apply if they were asking for too much money or control), or they don't want to come back.

There are a few reasons why they can't commit to a weekly show. When it comes down to it, their lives and relationships are more important than the show, however wonderful it is.

I'm sure everyone involved knows how much the listeners and squadrons want them back, and we want to hear as soon as possible.

There'll be an announcement here when there's something to announce.

The only question is if they are not coming back, would we want to live in hope and eventually move on, or know definitively that the show will not come back on a regular basis for the foreseeable?

I'd rather know.

I completely agree, Alex. I would much rather know than be left hanging like this and I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to know, however sad that might be.

I feel sure they must realise this and it's for that reason that I am holding out hope that they are simply not in a position to tell us one way or the other. Eventually, we may receive the news we all dread but while they remain silent on the subject, I shall keep an open, if not foolishly optimistic mind.

I suspect Adam has eaten any more perminent invitation, thinking it was a raffle ticket.

Intelligence gathered from the website Broadcast (www.broadcastnow.co.uk) suggests that Commanders Buxton and Cornish may yet be reinstated on a long-term basis:

"The pair were expected to return to present a regular show from November, however this appears to have been pushed back. It is understood that they have the appetite to return, but are yet to organise dates as they manage their personal commitments."

Excellent, at least there is still hope of a return! Thats enough to keep me going until Christmas.

Thought you might all like to know, I've had a word with James, he said it was difficult to say when they would be back at the moment, because of A+J's other commitments.

So, no news yet, but at least it sounds like they are still discussing a potential return. He also said that news would be posted on the A+J blog as soon as there was some.

Ok, here's the thing. We crawl through the desert all year on the promise of refreshment 'sometime soon'. Time passes, still nothing. Then you come along with this delicious looking glass of water decorated with Christmas berries and mistletoe, but sadly we find that it has been laced with boggins slobber and its delicosity is hard to enjoy. What does 'one last time' mean and please can we have a definate yes or no to your return. Being in limbo all this time is hurting my back.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas to everybody, we'll be enjoying the seasonal offering and reporting for duty 10am Christmas day.

I am delirious with happiness! Sadly as I will be in Texas over Christmas, which is 6 hours behind the UK, I can't listen live but I will be podcasting my little heart out and hopefully will get the chance to listen again at some point! Also exciting to hear that there may be more A&J goodness in the future. My life is a little less British without a new podcast dropping in my slot once a week, and that is bad. How can I resist turning into a Yank without them?
