My favourite bit was the mash up with Byrne/Eno/Byrds/Beatles/Network. Excellent work, it truly sounded like one piece of music.
I rode the rollercoaster of emotions today from feeling chuffed that you read my question to the lovely Emmy, all the way down to total mortification at my atrocious typing skills! Yikes! Nice to think that I may have introduced Emmy to the wonderful music of "Rickle" Lee Jones!
the Bowie Paint Jingle was genius!

But I'm really cross with myself that I didn't suggest The Love Theme From Bladerunner. Its one of my favourite tracks and I didn't mention it because I thought it had already been on an earlier show (when I wasn't listening..). Looking forward to next weeks already.

Somewhat presumptuous I know, but after reading the 'suggestions and questions' thread I did make my own chillcakes mix - if anyone is interested it's here:
Word to the Moderator - I've re-read the house rules and genuinely don't think I'm breaking them by posting this; I'm not a professional dj touting for work and people don't have to pay to stream or download this, I'm just linking to some tunes that I hope people might enjoy after listening to this week's show. Hope this is ok - it's meant in the best spirit.
Cheers.

This was a great chill cake.
The Podcast music snippets were so good I downloaded the whole show but I'm got stuck on Booker T - Sunday Morning for the past hour (rewinding it on itunes and playing it over and over).
Thanks for introducing me to some cool music.
I'm very chillaxed now.
toodles and love.

This is a polite request for the IPlayer team to not blindly cut off the show at 2:00 hours elapsed, because 'An Ending' was still playing! I felt this went against both the chilled theme of the show, AND your mixtape concept.

Buckles I have just discovered your letter to Bowie and I have to say it is one one the cutest things I have ever read (apart from some of the cards and notes I get from my daughters!).
Endearing, self deprecating, sweet, honest, funny and respectful to Bowie himself. Bowie would have to have a hard heart or be an insanely busy person to not reply to such a delightful request. You are so clearly a huge fan and have always championed his cause.
Go on Bowie...
"I wish you would" take the "Time" to read Adam's letter about "An Occasional Dream" of his, to have you as a guest on his show. You may have a "Sense of Doubt", but make some "Changes" and take a chance,; it could be a "Fantastic Voyage" that you won't "Look Back in Anger" on.
He may look "Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed", but Adam is no "Space Oddity" he's just "Aladdin Sane" about your music. So "What in the World" have you got to lose? Make a "Wild Eyed Boy from FreeCloud"'s dream come true.
Thankyou
PS if circle has a circumference of 67cm what is the "Width of a Circle" ? (tee hee!)

Your shows with Joe are by far the best things I've ever listened to on radio, and although I can't wait for Joe to return, your mixtape is so much better than anything else on the airwaves right now. Keep up the great work. David McK

Presenters: Adam Buxton & Joe Cornish
Executive Producer: James Stirling
Producers: Ben Appleyard & Xanthe Fuller
Broadcast Assistants: Charlotte Guzzan & Lucy Cooke
The judges thought this entry was superb: extremely funny, engaging and inclusive. It was also very strong on originality in both its content and its formats musical pastiches, features, presenter-led sequences and banter. It is clear that a great deal of thought and preparation behind this programme, but the presenters great strength is to make hard work sound easy. It interacts with its audience in a refreshing, engaging way. A wonderful, ambitious, funny programme.

/Agree, but did you really call Joe a **** in the speech though? Ah, sweet Song Wars friction memories...
Hmmm, audience participation...nice, like camomile lotion on itchy hidden parts.
Speaking of, I raised an eyebrow in a pale imitation of Roger Moore to see 4 of my suggestions getting onto the latest Mix. If I had a massive ego, I'd now hyperventilate, flap around the house like a kid with advanced ADD about how awesome my music taste is, then waffle on about it here in no less than 500 words. But I don't, so won't. Course if I had no ego, I wouldn't have mentioned it at all, but ego-less people only exist up snow-capped mountains in Tibet.
Other choices - Golden Age, ah, definitely one of the finest balls in his can(n)on. It's also a perfect break-up song (if there can be such a thing), and I think the whole LP it's taken from, is centred around that theme. I find Bjork, pretty um, 'exhausting' to listen to, but 'Come to me' is a thing of wonder, which would've also slotted in really nicely with the 'New Relations' concept.
Emmy The Great came across much less imperiously than might've been expected by some, though taking your pants off in front of a lady who isn't your loved one, or doctor is somewhat questionable.
Not understanding the massage giving displeasure. You're doing it wrong man!
Blowing off all kinds of appointments is a real joy - I mean what's going to happen as a result? A big flippin ash cloud covering half the planet, worsening a current recession? A hadron collider misfiring, creating a mini-blackhole sucking in the entire solar system? People need to chill the BLADDY HELL OUT about chill time, for FLIP'S SAKE!

Really enjoying the Big Mix Tapes. When I was in sixth form (having read High Fidelity but being completely inept with girls) I made complilations for my friends. I remember one tape was called "42" and was made to help a particular friend cheer up a bit. Being a teenager had been getting him down for a while, so i put together a 90min mixtape of music interspersed with speech from "The Hitch-hikers guide to the Galaxy", i did all the voices myself including a rather good Marvin the Paranoid Android.
Apparently it did the job and he still has it!
Cheery-bye
