Nicolas Cage was slightly cagey to say the least. His stare and his voice were both very intense. The meeting of our vibes was a strange one... We just kind of looked at each other... There was me desperately searching for a bit of a giggle or smile out of him, whilst his heavy structured answers simply would not allow it. Maybe I just need to learn that A list Hollywood actors don't necesarily want to crack jokes about their personal lives! Listening back I do kind of like him though,... Better do, if we're going to Glastonbury together...!

I can't believe its back - series link prepare to be rinsed.
Episode one introduced us all to 15 new wannabe tycoons, all full of blagger and no swagger...2 teams : boys v girls and the first task was all about cleaning.
Charlotte on the Breakfast team lurrves him off (quite literally obsessed!).. She would've given him a big mac and juicy cola any time of the day!
(Warning: This link contains strong language)
How much do you want be there out of ten??? I think about 11.
Next week we'll be celebrating 30 years of Hip Hop.. This has got me properly in the mood!
What a perfect finale. I had no idea what to expect! I've never had to do live radio infront of an audience before! Arggghhh! I thought the uni students represented though, I even managed to find a group of breakfast boogiers before 9am to dance with. Phew! That could've been embarrassing otherwise!
This roadtrip has opened my eyes up a lot. I feel like i've been able to experience the tiniest of nosey snippets into all our listeners lives. It reaffirms why radio is important and especially 1Xtra!
1Xtra is speedy and reaches things fast, I'm talkin' about tunes and I'm talkin' about having serious fun! When I saw this crew of boys skateboarding and catching general jokes I wanted to get involved... Broop Broop to Birmingham. It's currently my birthday and I was actually born in a Hospital that doesn't exsist any longer on the outskirts of Moseley right here in Brum. Very special day...
Gem's undiscovered Jam today: Professer D and RT from Birmingham: https://www.myspace.com/trymyangle
P.S Going behind the scenes at Cirque de Soliel was awesome too, imagine being able to fly! I met a 19 year old girl that flies at the end of the show with the support of a few muscly men!!!
MMMmmmm, my boss bought me some champagne, guzzling it now! it's hard writing a blog with champagne in hand! Can you believe that UB40 came into the studio earlier and actually came prepared with a birthday card!?? Better still - Trev, he hadn't sorted any gifts out.. so I sent him out during the news to buy me a present quicksmart, unfortunately no shops were open so I ended up with a cookbook, Telly Tubby, a Kylie doll (which looked like a blonde haired martian) and an apron from the ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ shop!

After I met up with students at The Manchester College we parked the bus up at a highly recommended Caribbean Restaurant.
The owner/chef Mike is a proper 1Xtra Breakfast addict and broke down the show in minute detail. His fav feature is the Brain Teaser and his only excuse for getting it wrong is that he sometimes has ten pans on the go!
I have never had my dinner accompanied by an impromtu bongo performance before.
Trev and Gem split up last nite and Gem ran off to a very special museum : The Ulster Folk & Transport Museum to soak up a bit of culture. (Trev was jamming with Lionel 'The Ledge' Ritchie but more of that later)
Watch Gemma and a man called Patrick make a traditional Irish pressie for Trevor.

This morning's Breakfast Boogie was all about Manchester's Ting Tings. Trevor & Gem were joined by Target who wasn't "rolling deep". He let his hair down and skanked out while singing That's Not My Name. Trevor thought he was in a band and Gemma was brucking out like a mad woman as usual.
What's going on? Day 2 of the 1Xtra Breakfast Show Road Trip is madness! We are in one of the busiest cities in the UK - Manchester. This city is famous for its football, music and it's definitely the home of the biggest soap Coronation Street.
The 1Xtra Breakfast Show crew travelled 187 miles from Glasgow to Manchester. When we got to the legendary set it was really surreal! At first, when we walked into the world famous Granada TV studios it looked a bit like a hospital.
So on the first night of our road trip we stayed in the same hotel as JLS, on the same complex they'd just performed a scream-filled X Factor Live date.
Of course ALL the girls piled over to the hotel and stood at the door in hysterics, faces pressed against the glass for about an hour!! The entire X Factor live crew were in the hotel too but the ladies only had eyes for JLS. Me, Janine and Charlotte were in a room just above the door so had our own Michael Jackson moment waving our arms out and screaming back. JLS Fans = not impressed.
Then there was a power cut in the hotel, all the lights went off (and all the lights in the building across the road). We ran out into the hall to see emergency lighting (phew) and Marvin from JLS standing in a hall a bit confused! He said the fans usually trip the fire alarm to get them to make an appearance but i guess they've moved on to pulling the electricity cables. Oh the drama.
Meanwhile Trevor was in his room trying to watch Match of the Day and thinking all the screaming girls were for him!
Here's a pic of the lovely JLS boys and fellow finalist Eoghan Quinn in our Glasgow studio this morning with Trev & Gem.
Plus Glasgow designer popped by to customise some special 1Xtra Breakfast trainers for us : eggs, beans and bacon! The trainers are heat sensitive so when they get warm the beans disappear!!
Broop Broop.. Today has been completely surreal! Firstly arriving to work on a Sunday and shortly after, a bus arrives with your head on it (MASSIVE) right next to Trevor Nelson's massive head!???

Weird but amazing.. The road trip has officially began... The journey to Glasgow actually went a lot quicker than I'd expected, we watched couple of films which was a nice treat because I'm not usually very good at watching films if not in a cinema because I want to chat too much! The bus is like a cosy womb, all red snuggly...
Trevor missed out because he got a plane.. which he originally missed.. Long story! Xx
p.s Films on the way to Glasgow: The Mexican, Grand Tourino.
Next Friday (20th) the 1Xtra Breakfast Road Trip has its grand finale in Bristol
Trev & Gem will be having Breakfast At Bristol Uni! And amongst the Breakfast Baps will be live performances from Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah, KIG Family and Kano . Plus all the hard facts on Bristol from the one and only Justin Lee Collins.
PS Keep a look out for the big rock n roll tour bus with Trevor and Gemma's faces all over it. The bus will be driving through Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham & Bristol so keep your eyes peeled (its not gonna make it to Belfast I'm afraid but the whole Breakfast Crew will be there!)
Next Tuesday 17 March Trev & Gem will be getting on the "raaaaawwwwwk" tour bus and heading to Manchester - home of Oasis, Deansgate Locks, Man U and Man City. Its all part of the big 1Xtra Breakfast Road Trip.
The Breakfast Show Crew will be visiting the set of Coronation Street (eek) and hanging out with the cast members (hopefully Blanche).
Then we'll be hooking up with three footballing superstars...
Rio Ferdinand
Micah Richards
Shaun Wright Philips
Keep it locked to the blog for more details on what we're getting up to in Glasgow, Belfast, Birmingham and Bristol all next week
Well if you are interested in the idea of Skepta freestylin about marmite, Westwood rinsing Mutya, Eddi Kadi and Jocelin dutty wining and me making an idiot out of myself with a horn. Then please watch Never Mind the Boombox! Our contribution to Comic relief each time you laugh then please tally it up, beacuse we want your sponsorship money too!
Let's take it back to the old skool, in fact Xmas 08, the legendary Radio1/1Xtra Xmas party in my studio. I have chatted too much about it so here it is for y'all to see. Tinchy Stryder is a ledge, Lemar bought me the worst cardigan ever, Miss Dynamite looked cute, Bashy was feisty, Westwood was a grinch, Seani B and Gemma were the cheerleaders and Taio Cruz was hitting the karaoke hard. By the way, thanks for the casual but smart comments, it's important not to try too hard!
So we all know 1Xtra loves Drum & Bass, so do Trevor and Gemma! Check out the vid of this Monday's Breakfast Boogie D&B style!! Can you guess the track??!! p.s keep watching til the end and you might get more than you bargained for!!
NOTE: No clothes were ruined in the making of this video.
Uh oh....
The tabloids have been mis-informing the nation again as ever! When we first got in this morning we read that Alesha Dixon had tripped mid-peeing on her brave journey up Mount Kilimanjaro (FYI The hightest mountain in Africa, situated Tanzania)... Well, we spoke to her on the phone (who knew you would ever, ever get reception whilst on a gigantic moutnain climb!!???) during the show and she put us right!......

Do you have any embarassing toilet stories?? I know toilet humour isn't everyone's bag, but I'll read out the funniest on the show anyway!??...
