Spanish food
Description
An introduction to some popular Spanish foods. Jason and his sister Lara take us to a Spanish caf茅 to sample 鈥榗hocolate con churros鈥 and to a market to select fresh fish. They then help a chef cook up some tortillas in the kitchen. The recipe is given in English and Spanish.
Classroom Ideas
The class could be given a list of the foods mentioned in the clip and asked to tick them off as they hear them. They could also make a note of whether the foods were liked or disliked, and write down ways of expressing opinions. The recipe for tortillas could be given out to the class in a jumbled order. The task would be to assemble it in the correct order, then decide what the recipe means, identifying key verbs such as 鈥榩elarse鈥, 鈥榗ortarse鈥, 鈥榚char鈥, 鈥榝riarse鈥, 鈥榗ascar鈥, 鈥榖atir鈥, 鈥榤ezclar鈥, 鈥榙ar una vuelta鈥.
