A news report broadcast on the day the 1997 Welsh devolution referendum results were announced when Wales voted in favour of devolution. The referendum result was very close and we see the response of leaders and supporters of both campaigns as the results were announced.

This clip offers an opportunity to discuss the importance of the result of the 1997 devolution referendum for Wales and how subsequent events have affected the students鈥 lives. There is also an opportunity to explain the Welsh political system and to role play the First Minister, an Assembly Member or a member of the public discussing local or national issues.
