Reading comprehension tests your general understanding of how the French written language is put together.

Questions

(approx. 20 marks)

Read a text written in French and answer questions on it in English.

The questions will test how much you understand French verbs, adjectives, adverbs, nouns, tenses, expressions and everyday language phrases in context and show you have understood things by answering questions in English.

The French text could be written in a newspaper/magazine format (columns) or in lengthier, wider paragraphs (story format).

The language will be detailed and complex and the focus will be on one of the following four contexts and might overlap:

  • society
  • culture
  • learning
  • employability
