Print media is any mass communicationCommunicating with lots of people at the same time. which has been printed, such as newspapers and magazines.
Newspapers
Every day hundreds of different newspapers are published.
They are one of the oldest forms of media but they are still a popular way of reading the news.
There were examples of 鈥榥ews sheets鈥 produced in Venice as long ago as 1566!
Fewer people read printed newspapers now because they can access the same content on the internet. All major UK newspapers have web editions which can sometimes include more content than the printed paper. It is still referred to as 'print media' or a 'newspaper' even if it's read on a tablet or smartphone.
There are many different newspapers available in Scotland - some serve a specific city, town or local area, some serve the whole of Scotland, and there are also 'national' newspapers that serve the whole of the UK:
