Grace Mathebula dreams of winning the Miss Soweto Beauty Pageant.
Her brother Excellent longs to scoop the lottery jackpot and their grandmother Ma Betty, prays she will one day meet Mandela.
Chasing dreams, fame and fortune helps the Mathebula's cope with the daily grind. But life is about to unexpectedly change for this South African township family.
Moving in next-door is the first ever white woman to live in the neighbourhood. As the new arrival settles into township life with her fiancée Mr Khumalo, tensions, tears, admiration and anger erupt and unfold.
Will the Mathebula’s embrace their new neighbour and how will Soweto react when she secretly enters the annual beauty pageant?
One thing is certain… the Mathebula’s and their Soweto street will never be the same again.
