The play is inspired by real events that took place in Kenya following the 2007 general elections.
Chaos erupted following disputed presidential results. More than 1,000 people were killed and nearly 400,000 others displaced. The play is centred on Mbasudi, a young man too consumed by tribalism to think or act rationally.
When the presidential candidate he supports loses the election, he mobilises youths to attack people and property owned by members from a rival tribe who he blames for his candidate's defeat.
However, events take a strange twist when he learns he was stolen at the childbirth.
