The empowerment of women

Since Yahya Jammeh came to power the Gambia has made significant strides in the appointment of women to top public positions.

The president has had a female vice president for 12 years and five other ministers are women.

That should tick many boxes but the women say they want more.

Binta Jammeh-Sidibay is the Executive Director of the Association for the advancement of women and girls or AGWA. The ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ's Umaru Fofana caught up with her in Banjul.
