This pretty, sheltered beach near Mumbles is a favourite amongst learners who come here for the safer, smaller waves.

This flat, sandy beach generally has small surf all year round so perfect for learning to surf and there's easy parking at the rear of the beach.

It can get bigger in the winter months and has a fairly sheltered aspect from strong winds but it's rare to find really clean waves here.

When the surf does get bigger, the beach tends to close out but you might just get lucky.

More experienced surfers tend to surf around the corner at Langland but if it's really crowded there - Caswell is always an option.

Don't take any valuables to the beach when surfing here, as thieves have been known to target surfers vehicles left in the car park. It's also worth investing in a crook lock for your car.

The beach is best around mid tide and is sheltered from westerly winds but can get crowded at high tide as the water fills up the bay.

The rip current tends to kick in towards high tide, so it's worth keeping an eye on but on the whole, the beach is safe.

A couple of surf schools operate from here so if you're looking for a lesson - you'll find links for them on the right hand side of this page.
