2003: Clarence House opens to the public
Clarence House was opened to the public in August 2003.
The Prince of Wales invited the public to his official residence after an extensive refurbishment.
Clarence House had previously been the home of Queen Elizabeth II before her coronation, and of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, before her death.
