Children In NeedYou are in: Beds Herts and Bucks > Children In Need > Local Way Round the East Luke is ready for off! Local Way Round the East³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three Counties Luke Ashmead is raising money for Children in Need on an intrepid trip around the East of England. Keep up to date with Luke's progress around the East with his daily blog and our photo gallery: _______________________________________________________ Inspired by the exploits of intrepid bikers Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor (Long Way Round & Long Way Down), ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Three Counties Presenter Luke Ashmead is aiming to raise money for Children in Need and raise awareness of how your money is spent, at some of the wonderful projects in the east of England. But, unlike Boorman and McGregor who used powerful 1150 cc all terrain bikes, Luke will do all this from the seat of a 110cc scooter travelling the A and B roads of the region. Luke tries his helmet for size Starting from Milton Keynes, Luke’s trip will see him head to projects in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, then set off to Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire before returning to the Three Counties in Buckinghamshire and then back to base in Luton. At each location Luke will visit a project that has benefited from Children in Need grant money to see just how it has helped. The climax of the week long journey will be on Children in Need Day, Friday 14 November, when Luke will be joined in Luton by one of the men that inspired this trip, Charley Boorman. Charley will then join Luke, and around 40 bikers from the local area, as they head to the world famous Ace Café in London. From there it will be onto the final destination - Wembley Arena.
