Paul McGee and Richard Henderson started the company when they discovered a shared taste for the same humour while at the University of Northumbria, as the duo explained to 成人快手 Tees' John Foster:

"We met up at University two years ago and we started creating Paul's animations and brought them to life" revealed Richard.

"We basically create left-wing cartoon entertainment" Paul added, "it's a bit anarchic and a little bit warped."

It wasn't long before they began work on their first animated feature, The Mythical Pigeon. It follows the adventures of Otis - voiced by 成人快手 Look North's Colin Briggs - who buys what he believes is the perfect stuffed pigeon, little knowing that a nefarious gang are also on the trail of the bird.

"The Mythical Pigeon is the first outing in Warped World and it's basically about Otis and his quest for a pigeon that he sees at auction one day" Richard revealed.

After finishing The Mythical Pigeon, Paul and Richard began work on a trilogy of short stories, with The Erotic Adventures of Terry O'Rouke beginning the series:

"Terry O'Rouke features Jim Bowen of Bullseye fame as the narrator. After we'd caught Colin Briggs in our Warped World net we thought 'right, let's go bigger on this now', and we thought about Jim and tried him, and he was bang up for it.

"We drove to Kendal and unfortunately arrived two hours late. He was standing at his front door looking at his watch, but he was a real gent and served us tea before we recorded the voiceover in his dining room - it was a great experience and he was a really nice guy."

Drawing inspiration

It's a time consuming operation, so how do the duo approach the whole animation process?

"The initial drawings come from Paul - he's been doing it from the day dot. I'm more on the production side but we share jobs as we go along.

The Warped lads have turned heads with their animations, with Channel Four expressing an interest in working with the pair:

Richard said: "They sent us an e-mail saying that they were interested and would like to see the finished animation, so we're going to be sending that off to them.

"We need to get it into festivals first and then hopefully with our producer Geoff Wonfor that'll open a few more doors."

Having the director of the Beatles Anthology on-board can only be beneficial, but Richard and Paul are still on the look out for investment to bring their Warped productions to a larger audience, as Richard explained:

"We've been looking for funding to help continue our endeavours and we've got the passion so we're just going to keep plugging away - the rewards aren't instantaneous but it's where our heart is and we believe in our product.

"We'd love to see them broadcast and in the longer term ideally we'd like to have a series.

"I think it's about being passionate about what we do. Over the last two years we've been working on three cartoons, which is a long time, but we're dedicated and our hard work is hopefully going to pay off."
