MML 2006- Studio 64 stage

Reviews from the Studio 64 stage.

Jamie Sample

Middlesbrough’s Jamie Sample has worked hard over the past year and it shows, with his wide range of great material from the beautifully emotional spellcaster to the well crafted catchy sing-along of come along, Jamie is moving from strength to strength.

It's the honesty of this artist that really helps him appeal to his wide audience, with his down to earth quality 'The Sampler' can really connect whilst performing.

With lyrics like "I’m just a northern boy, looking for the most in life, I’m just a northern boy maybe looking for a wife" it shows that despite being ambitious he’s remaining true to himself and not letting the craze of Samplemania go to his head.

Jamie still knows what’s important and is doing a good job of keep his feet on the ground as well being able to let loose on stage, he must have felt on top of the world seeing the first few rows of the audience sing along to his entire set.

The audience endure the rain because they are simply overwhelmed by the performance of Sample classics such as 'In My Dreams' and new material like 'I Wanna Make You Howl' as well covers performed in Jamie’s own melodic style with The Vapours' ‘Turning Japanese’, and The Lion sleeps tonight.

I know it was this young man who stole my heart today with possibly the performance of Middlesbrough Music Live.

15 Minutes Society

As crazed as ever, they never fail to impress, putting 110% into every performance. The crowd went crazy, the music deafened me but it was simply amazing.

I expected nothing less after seeing them earlier in the year at Kenaz Live.

They have a real stage presence and their music follows suit, I'm sure these guys will be going places in the future.
