Advice and discussion on active learning and teaching abstract topics in science from our panel:

  • Dr. Sarah Earle - Senior lecturer in Primary PGCE at Bath Spa University and the project lead for the Teacher Assessment in Primary Science (TAPS) research project at the Centre for Research in Scientific and Technological Learning and Education (CRiSTLE)

  • Dr. Kevin Fong - Consultant anaesthetist at University College London Hospitals, where he is an honorary professor in the department of science, technology, engineering and public policy. He is also an innovation and engagement fellow at the Wellcome Trust; and co-director of the Centre for Altitude, Space and Extreme Environment Medicine

  • James Bailey - Current Year 6 teacher at Moorside Community Primary School in Salford

The panel discuss how physical activity can support science teaching, the challenges of teaching abstract topics and the importance of engaging children in science.
