Remembering real people who served in the war
We marked the centenary of the Armistice - the end of the First World War - with a creative writing Live Lesson for primary students in collaboration with .
This was an opportunity for schools to be a part of a collective moment of reflection ahead of a weekend of national events, including Danny Boyle鈥檚 , a unique moment when communities gathered on beaches to say thank you and goodbye to the millions who left their shores during the First World War, many never to return.
Designed for 7-11s, this Live Lesson features author and poet Roger Stevens and Charlotte Czyzyk, historian and project manager for Lives of the First World War at Imperial War Museums.
It explores themes of remembrance and commemoration, and encourages children to reflect on the end of the war through creative writing.
Content is designed to tie in with a free 14-18 NOW Armistice resource pack which is available to .
