Video summary

An engaging animated summary of the work of medical pioneers Andreas Vesalius, Ambroise Par茅 and William Harvey.

This film explores each pioneer鈥檚 individual work and experimentation which lead to the greater understanding of the human body.

Using rich archive; authentic illustrations and original diagrams this film brings to life the work of these three Renaissance pioneers.

By contextualising Vesalius, Par茅 and Harvey with the then widely accepted teachings of Galen we see the evolution of ideas on anatomy and physiology and highlight how change occurred in medical thought.

Narrated by actor and impressionist Duncan Wisbey, the pace is quick and tone irreverent, ensuring it is an immersive and useful source for the classroom.

This is from the series: Medicine through time.
