Find out what's happening in Strictly Come Dancing 2009
News
This weekend saw our sixth celebrity voted off the show, and despite training more hours than any other couple it was Mark and Hayley's turn to go.
And Mamma mia, you great dancing gods, all my prayers and women's everywhere were answered, when Mark Foster whipped off his shirt during his final dance to reveal THAT torso!!
I had to clutch Brucie for support and proceeded to walk zombie fashion, arms outstretched, trying to touch the Holy Grail, Mark's glistening naked flesh. Ah the bittersweet joy, it went a wee way towards the pain of losing him. My husband doesn't mind, after working with Mark last year he's an even bigger fan than I am.
The judges saved Andrew in the dance off and he was almost too relived to speak as I congratulated him after. He seemed pretty shell shocked at the whole affair of having to dance again, and who wouldn't be, it must be so utterly stressful. He had such a wonderful week with the Viennese Waltz, enjoying every minute in training. His improvement was much noted and complemented by the judges. It just goes to prove once again, that you never can tell which way the public will vote.
Tom had another wonderful night, with his show stopping Viennese Waltz. Didn't he just look like her was born to do it - so effortless. And even more impressive coming on the week he got married. He still managed to pull off a performance like that, with literally half as much training as usual. But then he was training the morning after his Wedding day. Now, That's dedication, imagine all those Viennese Waltz rotations after all that champagne. Pass the bucket.
Cherie had an untypically tough week, and really struggled to get to grips with the Paso. Still there is no denying it, she looked nothing short of fabulous. The lady is a phenomenon, an inspiration to women everywhere, with her ageless elegant beauty. Personally I can't believe that perfectly flat toned stomach has produced a child, a beautiful girl now in her twenties.
Smiley Christine found it difficult too, to embrace her inner anger, for the dramatic Paso and ended up dangerously low on the judges' leader board. But the public thought differently and saved her to dance another day. Austin blew us away with the fact that, not only is he up training at the crack of dawn, he's also the father of four girls under the age of six! What? I have only one four-year-old and that's meant interrupted sleep for every one of those years. I can't begin to imagine multiplying that by four. I take my hat off to the man and especially his wife. I've met two of them at the show. The other two are babies. And they're gorgeous.
A few or our ex-striclty celebs were in the studio on Saturday, and it was wonderful to welcome back Gaby and Kenny 'Give us a cuddle you big teddy bear' Logan. Both of them are huge fans of the show and Kenny is absolutely made up that he'll be taking part in the tour in the New Year. It's all he talked about to me. Ola later told me that he's already been ringing her up pestering her to start training! She's had to defer him as yet as she's still got to concentrate on Andrew at present. I love Kenny he's like the big cuddly brother that you wish you had.
And so like you I await Saturday's show with baited breath. All our celebs are performing different dances, Yes! This is my favourite stage of the series and things get really interesting.
PS if anyone is interested in how my dancing for Children in need is going with Anton; I've had two proper lessons now and I admit I'm still trying to let the steps sink in. There's so much to remember, and I'm feeling the pressure. I know, I know, it's all for a good cause. And breathe…
See you next week for more fun and frolics from the dance floor.
