Blast! You are in: Stoke & Staffordshire > Blast! > The art of haircuts The art of haircutsby Melvin Rao Meet Dailey Lungrin, an artistic barber from Stoke-on-Trent. He can cut any image in the back of a customer's head. If there ever was a concept such as 'the da Vinci of the hairdressing world', he would surely be a contender. Dailey Lungrin is an exceptional barber and owns 'Cutting It' barber shop on Hope Street in Hanley. His career as a barber began when he did work experience at a barber shop in Stoke-on-Trent and ended up getting a weekend job. But in 2002, he won the Wahl Barber of the year competition. Artistically inclinedDailey is an artist in his own right and his canvas is a head full of hair. He cuts outlines of objects, text and basically anything that the customer desires. Take a look at some of the haircuts... Dailey Lungrin Composition, proportion and shades are taken into consideration all though some patterns can be in a caricature style, the patterns do resemble some elements off graffiti. You might wonder why anyone would want to get such a bold fashion statement etched in the back of their head. Well according to Dailey: "It boosts your confidence - every pattern is different, you are always going to be unique." He told me that a pattern can take up to an hour to cut.
