成人快手 Radio Stoke's schools project "Making Waves" took the award with the following glowing assessment from the judges: 鈥淭his is radio at its very best.听 The vignettes were imaginative, insightful and original.听 The variation in techniques showed a very strong feel for how to use the medium.听 "The judges felt they'd rarely heard such powerful comments from children, which were at once intelligent, surprising, challenging, inspiring. This was simply stunning work, beautifully edited and produced.鈥 The project gives young people a chance to get their voices heard on 成人快手 Radio Stoke, and is the first of its kind in the country. Issues Students work with producer Joel Moors to make radio and online material about the issues they care about. Their work is then broadcast on the radio station and at www.bbc.co.uk/stoke. The award is another feather in the cap of Executive Producer Sarah Harness, who oversaw last year's "Inside Lives" entry which claimed prizes at both the Gillards and the industry-wide Sony Awards.听听听 The Gillard Awards are held each year in honour of 成人快手 Local Radio's founder Frank Gillard, and are aimed at recognising outstanding examples of broadcasting excellence from across the country. |
