Scotland lock Alex Craig is in talks about a move from Scarlets to Glasgow next month.

Craig, 27, is being linked with moving to the Scottish side in November to replace Richie Gray, who is leaving to play club rugby in Japan.

Craig had signed a new Scarlets contract in June 2024.

Scarlets and United Rugby Championship (URC) champions Glasgow are currently discussing the potential transfer.

Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel says there was "nothing to add" when asked on Thursday whether Craig would be moving to Scotland later this year.

Peel says Craig is fit to face Cardiff in the URC Welsh derby at the Arms Park on Saturday afternoon.

The league will have a month's break at the end of October for the autumn internationals so that would be the natural time for any move.

Scarlets will travel to play Glasgow on 30 November.

After joining from Gloucester, Craig made 20 appearances in the 2023-24 season and was voted the Scarlets players' player of the season.

Scarlets are missing Tonga lock or number eight Vaea Fifita until the end of November because of a knee injury.

His fellow Tonga international Sam Lousi and Australian Max Douglas were the starting second rows in the 24-23 defeat against Connacht, with Craig used as a replacement.

Welsh locks Jac Price, Morgan Jones and Ed Scragg are other options at Peel's disposal.
