Llandovery are in contention for a league and cup double after getting the better of Merthyr

Llandovery beat Merthyr 20-18 to win the Premiership Cup at the Principality Stadium thanks to a late penalty from Ioan Hughes.

Taylor Davies scored two tries for Llandovery, who trailed 15-7 at half-time.

Merthyr also managed two tries, from Cole Swannack and Lloyd Rowlands.

The lead changed hands as both sides exchanged penalties in the second period, with Hughes slotting the decisive kick in the closing stages.

A fantastic interception from Swannack had led to the opening try after 16 minutes as he ran in from 40 metres to put Merthyr ahead.

Llandovery were soon level at 7-7 thanks to a try from a driving maul, before a break from Morgan Meaclem split the Drovers' defence and saw Rowlands go over.

Davies drove over for Llandovery's second try early in the second half, with Euros Evans' side eventually coming out on top after a tense final quarter.

In the Championship Cup final, Bargoed cruised to a 65-12 victory over Ystrad Rhondda, scoring nine tries en route to victory despite losing Dylan Williams to a red card.

Wing Ashley Norton had a day to remember, crossing four times.

"I was just happy to get on the field, so to score four tries is a dream come true. I don't think I could've had a better game if I tried," said Norton.

Llanelli Wanderers defeated Glynneath RFC 23-19 to win the Division 1 Cup.

In Saturday's finals, Llanharan beat Porthcawl 44-3 to win the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) Division 2 Cup

Cardiff Quins beat Blaina 13-7 to land the WRU Division 3 Cup and Newport Saracens edged Tonna 23-24 to claim the WRU Division 4 Cup.

The WRU Division 5 Cup went to Seven Sisters, who beat Dinas Powys 15-27.
