Warrington captain Ratchford out for eight weeks

Warrington Wolves captain Stefan Ratchford will miss the next eight weeks having had surgery on a fractured eye socket and jaw.

The 36-year-old was injured during the Wire's Super League win over St Helens on Friday.

Ratchford has made 11 appearances for Warrington this season, and over 300 in total.

Meanwhile, Warrington centre Rodrick Tai has signed a one-year contract extension to stay with the until 2025.

Tai, 25, joined last year from Australian National Rugby League team Dolphins.

The Papua New Guinea international scored six tries in his 13 appearances during his debut season for the Wolves.

"I鈥檓 really happy that I鈥檓 here to stay and go again for another year. I鈥檝e learnt a lot this season from the boys and the coaching staff," Tai told the
