Former England, Bradford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos prop Danika Priim will join RFL president Adam Hills as one of his vice-presidents.

Australian comedian Hills, 54, will take over as president from Sir Lindsey Hoyle, the Speaker of the House of Commons and MP for Chorley, in 2025.

Priim, who has moved into punditry since her retirement from rugby league in 2021, becomes the fourth woman to serve as a president or vice-president of the RFL.

Swinton Lions chief executive Steve Wild will also become Hills' other vice-president.

Wild follows on from Malcolm White, a former Lions chairman, who served as RFL president between 2001 and 2002.

Priim's appointment follows Sue Taylor's stint as vice-president in 2022 and 2023 while Kath Hetherington and Clare Balding have held the role of president in the past.

Meanwhile, Goole Vikings have been approved by the RFL board to join League One starting from the 2025 season.

The Vikings applied, along with Anglian Vipers and Bedford Tigers, for a spot in rugby league's third tier following an application process that took place during the summer.

The club were founded in 2018 and have played in the Yorkshire Men's League while a junior team played in the City of Hull and District competition.

A separate decision will be made at a Rugby League Council meeting in December as to whether Goole will earn membership of the Rugby Football League.
