Hull FC have signed versatile forward Jack Ashworth from Huddersfield Giants on a two-year deal to start from the 2024 Super League campaign.

The 28-year-old only played 10 games for the Giants in 2023, and failed to establish himself as a regular under Ian Watson's coaching.

Prior to joining Huddersfield, Ashworth won a Grand Final at St Helens, where he came through the academy system.

"Obviously, it's a massive opportunity for me," Ashworth said,

"The ball is in my court and it's up to me to work hard and show what I can do. But I'm determined to work so hard for it.

"Tony [Smith, head coach] is putting together a fairly hefty pack for 2024 and I'm pleased to be a part of it.

"When it comes to size, I feel like I contribute towards that. I won't back down from anything and I'll do anything the coach asks of me."

Ashworth will link up with fellow forward recruits Herman Ese'ese, Franklin Pele and Jayden Okunbor, while Ligi Sao, Brad Fash and Jack Brown remain from the 2023 roster.

"Whilst he is another big body for our pack for 2024, he is actually very skilful too," head coach Smith said.

"Jack did actually used to play halfback, but he's a big man now and he's much more accustomed to playing in the pack.

"He gives us an option through the middle and in the back row, which is good for us, and he's determined to grasp this opportunity with both hands."
