Wigan are second in the Super League table

Wigan's Super League match against Catalans Dragons on Thursday has been postponed after three members of the Warriors' staff returned positive Covid-19 results.

Three Wigan players also returned positive tests last week.

The club's training session on Wednesday was cancelled after one member of the coaching staff and two support staff tested positive.

Members of the club are to have further coronavirus tests on Thursday.

The Rugby Football League's multiple cases group will then advise Wigan - who are not scheduled to play again until Friday, 23 October against Salford - if they can return to training.

In a statement, Super League said that there is no new date available in the calendar to rearrange the fixture against Catalans, although it was added that "the situation will be kept under review".

Across the league this week, there have been seven positive results across four clubs from 591 tests taken.

Earlier in the week, Wembley-bound Salford returned two positive results just four days before the Challenge Cup final.

While their Super League game on Tuesday against Hull KR was pushed back by an hour as they awaited results, their place in the cup final is not under threat.
