Racer Davey Todd will make a return to the Supertwin class at this year's Isle of Man TT event.

The 28-year-old will represent the Dafabet Racing team in both races at the 2024 edition.

It will mark only the second outing for the Yorkshireman on a Supertwin at the event, after failing to finish the race in 2019 while competing for Norton.

"This is a class where bike performance is vital, and I've got a proven machine with the Dafabet team," Todd said.

"Their pedigree in the class speaks for itself, so let's see what we can achieve."

Todd, from Saltburn in North Yorkshire, parted ways with Padgett's in July 2023 after two years with the team.

It was confirmed shortly after that the three-time North West 200 Supersport winner would ride for Milwaukee BMW Motorrad, which is run by the TAS Racing team, in the 2024 Superbike, Superstock and Senior TT races.

Todd will now also be switching to Kawasaki machinery for both three-lap Supertwin TT races, which are scheduled to take place on 4 and 7 June around the 37.7-mile (60km) Mountain Course.

Dafabet Racing claimed three successive wins in the class between 2014 and 2016 through Dean Harrison and Ivan Lintin, while Australian Josh Brookes took third place for the Bristol-based outfit in the first race in 2023.

Co-owner Ben Constable said the team was "over the moon to get Davey on board" and that achieving more podium places in the class with him "would be mega".

"We know we have a proven machine in the class and we've made further improvements since last year, so we'd like to go a step further and would love nothing more than to get back on the top step of the TT podium," Constable said.

The Isle of Man TT races are set to take place between 27 May and 8 June this year.
