Reigning world sidecar champions Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement will make their Isle of Man TT debut in 2024.

Ellis and Clement, who are also the 2023 British sidecar champions, have notched up 15 Grand Prix victories and 38 podiums over the past three seasons.

The pair first competed together in the 2021 season, securing their first world championship title the following year.

Ellis said there would be "lot of learning to be done" around the 37.73-mile (60.7km) Mountain Course.

The 29-year-old driver from Scunthorpe said competing at the TT had been on his mind for a number of years after visiting the island for the past two decades with his step-father Gary Bryan, who is a long-term competitor in the event.

'Huge challenge'

"Being there in 2023 was the first time where I started to properly think about doing it myself," Ellis said.

"There's a lot of learning to be done, particularly the gears and the bumps and the number of blind corners, but this isn't a bucket list thing for me.

"It's a long-term plan for the next 10 or 15 years, so who knows where we'll end up."

Sidecar passenger Clement, who hails is Pau in France, has attended the event for the past two years to support Bryan's team.

The 27-year-old said competing at the TT would be "a huge challenge", but the pairing had a "fantastic group of people around us which I think will really help our learning and progress".

The 2024 TT races are set to run between 27 May and 8 June, with Ellis and Clement due to take part in both TT Sidecar races, scheduled for 1 and 5 June.

Sidecar racing at the event has been dominated by brothers Ben and Tom Birchall in recent years, with the pair securing 14 wins since making their own debut in 2009.
