Well that's where we leave you for now, following a thrilling Super League play-off eliminator.

Salford, who it's fair to say were not at the top of people's lists to make the play-offs prior to the start of the season, are 80 minutes from a second Grand Final in three years.

As it's a World Cup year, the Super League Grand Final is booked in to take place two weeks today.

  3. 'They were too good for us'published at 15:03 British Summer Time 10 September 2022

    FT: Huddersfield 0-28 Salford

Huddersfield Giants boss Ian Watson told Channel 4:

"They were too good for us. They blew us away. Credit to them, we just weren't there. We made too many errors and our discipline wasn't good enough.

"We'll come back better and stronger. [This season] has been a good stepping stone for where we want to be. Today's just a disappointing end. We deserved a lot for the effort we put in.

"[On Danny Levi's injury] Danny will be disappointed if he can't play in the World Cup. It's been a development season for him."

  4. 'The journey continues'published at 14:59 British Summer Time 10 September 2022

    FT: Huddersfield 0-28 Salford

Salford Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley told Sky Sports:

"It means the journey can continue but we're not ready for it to finish. This is another step on the journey and we're enjoying it.

"It'll take some getting over this, we put a lot of effort into today's game. But we'll recover.

"[On Brodie Croft] I was hoping and praying I was wrong, I'm disappointed. He'll be unavailable next week. We've got a job to do now and step over another rung in the ladder to allow Brodie to come back and display his talent on the biggest stage of all."

  5. 'We defended like we had to'published at 14:57 British Summer Time 10 September 2022

    FT: Huddersfield 0-28 Salford

Salford Red Devils half-back Marc Sneyd told Sky Sports:

"Especially in these big games, you can't expect to attack how you want to.

"In the second half I'm not sure how many points we scored, but we defended like we had to do.

"To come into this on play-off week and put a nil on a team like Huddersfield puts us in good stead for next week."

    All over.

Salford were supreme. Meanwhile, that's a sobering defeat for Huddersfield boss Ian Watson against his former side.

Both sides lost players to injury, Danny Levi to a knee injury and Salford losing Brodie Croft for the second half - and next week - due to a failed head injury assessment.

Salford will take on St Helens as their reward for nilling Huddersfield in their own back yard.

    Andy Ackers, goal Marc Sneyd

Salford are going through and they're doing it in style!

Andy Ackers runs down the wing and perfectly dummies the onrushing Tui Lolohea before running in.

Marc Sneyd kicks on his weaker foot and sends it for two.

    It's not awarded.

The ball bounces onto the whitewash before Ricky Leutele could make contact with the ball.

Looks like Huddersfield are going to get nilled, here.

Ricky Leutele has gone over for Huddersfield.

It's gone upstairs. Can Huddersfield at least get off the mark?

Marc Sneyd, who's been fantastic with the boot this afternoon, tries a long-range drop-goal attempt.

Unfortunately - and uncharacteristically - for Sneyd, it's a poor kick and bounces low and behind the goal area.

Hudderfield have nothing left to give. The scoreline doesn't reflect how well they have gone in this game and how much they have thrown at Salford.

Chris Hill is the latest Huddersfield player to try and race to the ball as the Giants put the pressure on.

Some pushing and shoving between Alex Gerrard and Huddersfield's Chris Hill.

Some frustration from the hosts, maybe. It comes after Gerrard had been grounded on Salford's third tackle.
