So that's it tonight, as the fog failed to foil Wigan from seeing off National League side York thanks to a Stephen Humprhys finish.

Shrewsbury join their League One rivals in the draw after their win over Notts County, which saw the Magpies' defence in benevolent spirit.

Both our games made it tonight but we really are at the mercy of the conditions and the measures applied by clubs for Saturday's FA Cup second round action.

Crewe's home game with Bristol Rovers has already gone and there might be a few nervy moments tomorrow morning as pitch inspections take place around the country.

Should we be all good, Derbyshire's Alfreton Town will entertain Walsall in a lunchtime kick-off to get us up and running.

Within the 15:00 GMT starts, we've got Maidstone v Barrow, Sutton v Horsham, Gillingham v Charlton, Bolton v Harrogate, Newport v Barnet and Peterborough v Doncaster amongst others.

Like I say, it all depends on whether the groundsstaff's hard work comes to fruition or not tomorrow morning.

"[York] got the better of the first 15 minutes.

"We didn't need that many players behind the ball.

"York made it very tough for us. It was so compact in the middle, we probably struggled.

York City can be proud of what they have accomplished.

It could have been different.

Shaun Maloney's team will go home happy. There was one mistake, where they showed their quality.

Wigan's numerous supporters and their players, staff and the gaffer Shaun Maloney will be delighted to have overcome this banana skin.

Stephen Humprhys was arguably the difference, could have had a couple but did find the crucial goal with a slick finish to finally beat 38-year-old David Stockdale.

National League side York showed much for Neal Ardley to be proud of, and they racked up a few chances too.

However, the difference in class, and energy, maybe just caught up with the Minstermen in the end.

Ryan Bowman ensures progress to round three for a seventh straight season for Shrewsbury, dumping out Notts County in the process.

Hat-trick for the striker, who to be fair was handed some gifts by the Magpies defence.

Richard Brindley's blockbuster and a James Sanderson debut goal the bright spots for Notts County.

Charlie Hughes hammers a clearance away, Wigan make something of it and Callum McManaman streaks for goal but zings it over.

Could have been two. It was like a Peter Kay "Have it" from Hughes.

Late sub as Jonny Smith replaces a hobbling Martial Godo for Wigan.

Just a couple more minutes after the injury stoppage.

York's captain just could not get his head over the Maziar Kouhyar cross from the left amid the gloom, and the ball pings over the top and away to safety.

Great ball in, good leap. Just won't fall for the Minstermen.

The fog now is silly. Proper peasouper.

If there weren't mere stoppage time moments left, it might be a little bit of a concern.

It's a moment which sees the veteran centre-forward hold his head in hands briefly.

York have it through Maziyar Kouhyar on the left, whips inside and curls one at goal which in the dankness forces Sam Tickle to save.
