Anyway that's the end of this live page now. Thanks for joining us on a good day for Chelsea and a bad one for Manchester United.

Listen to ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Radio 5 Live's Football Daily here.

See you tomorrow for Man City v RB Leipzig and Liverpool v AC Milan?

If that doesn't seal the deal I'll throw in Lionel Messi and PSG and Inter Milan v Real Madrid.

Not Anthony Taylor's finest moment tonight. The referee gave Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Denys Garmash a 'second' yellow card and then a red...

    ....

    ....

but it turns out Garmash hadn't been booked earlier so Taylor had to take the red card back.

  5. 'Scoreline is unfair'published at 22:50 British Summer Time 14 September 2021

    FT: Barcelona 0-3 Bayern Munich

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia: "I think the scoreline is unfair. The first goal deflected off me, the second goal came back off the post and fell to Lewandowski. I don't think we should have lost by such a big scoreline.

"If we didn't hold the ball in midfield enough, at the end of the day, we were playing Bayern - maybe the best team in Europe. We knew it was going to be really tough."

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Zenit

This was Edouard Mendy's 10th Champions League clean sheet - in only his 13th game in the tournament.

Only Keylor Navas has ever done it quicker (11 games).

    FT: Barcelona 0-3 Bayern Munich

Barcelona failed to attempt a shot on target.

On his goal: "Me and Cesar [Azpilicueta] agree on certain type of movements on the pitch. I had to get my timing right but it was a beautiful ball by him. We knew it would be tough game but we controlled it really well."

On Antonio Rudiger's run which almost led to a goal: "I expected the ball at the end! It was good. It got the team and the crowd going."

On what it would be like to win the Champions League with Chelsea: "One game at a time. Today is the first game. Now we have a difficult game at the weekend against Tottenham."

  12. 'Make a mistake and you get punished'published at 22:23 British Summer Time 14 September 2021

FT: Young Boys 2-1 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: "That is football for you at the highest level. A lack of concentration, make a mistake and you get punished.

"We did that last year in Europe, we conceded two sloppy counter attacks against Basaksehir.

"Today in the last seconds Jesse [Lingard] wants to play it safe and one misplaced pass and you concede a goal. If Jesse gets that chance again he would swivel and clear it but we will learn from it."

On the decision to bring on Raphael Varane: "The signs were there in the last five minutes of the first half that they were going to get crosses into the box.

"We had to deal with their switches a lot better and I though Raphael [Varane], Victor [Lindelof] and Harry [Maguire] coped with it well. Of course a deflected goal off Luke [Shaw] for the first one, but apart from that it was the best way of controlling them. But we should have done better with the ball."

  13. 'We are not the finished article'published at 22:19 British Summer Time 14 September 2021

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Zenit

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BT Sport: "We expected a tough game because it's the highest competition in Europe and it's the Russian champions.

"We had to be at our top level. I am happy because we had to work a lot. It was not easy. It's tough to perform consistently at that level.

"Winning is good for our belief. We are not finished but we are in a good place to improve.

"The first step is done. But there are five more matches to go [in the group stage]."

  14. 'That's why Lukaku is here'published at 22:17 British Summer Time 14 September 2021

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Zenit

    Chelsea

More from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BT Sport: "You need the energy from the crowd and it was a fantastic atmosphere.

"It was an excellent header [from Lukaku for the goal], a well timed cross by Azpilicueta. He was brave enough to step up and we had bodies in the box.

"That's why he [Lukaku] is here. He likes to score and he's decisive for us."

  15. 'I liked what I saw'published at 22:13 British Summer Time 14 September 2021

    FT: Chelsea 1-0 Zenit

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, speaking to BT Sport: "It was not frustrating. It was tough against very strong opponents. We had to work really hard. I felt a huge intensity from us which we brought to the game.

"We struggled a bit to create chances and shots in the first half. In the second half it was a bit easier to find spaces and shoot. It was a deserved win. Hard earned. It took us a while to make them tired but I liked what I saw."

Lille and Wolfsburg drew 0-0 tonight. The French champions were given a 96th-minute penalty... but it was overturned by VAR because the foul was outside the box.

Chelsea have gone to a new level. The fact they have been playing under Tuchel for a short period of time they are starting to understand the way he wants the game to be played.

Their mentality is changing into a winning mentality.

To top that, they have brought in a world class striker at the top of his game.
