  1. Goodnight!published at 23:06 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

Well that was all a bit mad and, with all due respect, unexpected!

The big question now is how will Rangers respond to their 27-game unbeaten run coming to an end?

And who's going to win the League Cup?! What a chance for all the remaining four sides!

Who said Scottish football was boring? Until the next time...

  2. Martindale delight as Livi progresspublished at 23:03 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    FT: Livingston 2-0 Ross County

Livingston interim manager David Martindale tells ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Scotland: "We did what we had to do. Getting through's the most important thing, not how you got through.

"We got a wee bit of luck with the first [goal]. We probably should've done a wee bit better in the second half with the counter attacks.

"The boys are cheering they got St Mirren, St Mirren will be cheering in their dressing room that they got Livingston. Hopefully, it's going to lead to a smaller team picking up a trophy this year, which I think's good for Scottish football."

  3. Gerrard will be 'looking extremely close' to players' responsepublished at 22:59 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    FT: St Mirren 3-2 Rangers

Speaking to Premier Sports, Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard added: "You learn a lot about your players every game, and I'll be looking extremely close now to see who reacts in the right way.

"I have to pick a team that's going to bounce back in the right way against Motherwell.

"I'll analyse it [tonight's game] and pick the bones out if it. I know exactly what's gone wrong and what I need to do.

"It'll sting, and I want the players to feel disappointment because we've let out supporters down."

  6. 'We haven't felt this for a long time' - Gerrardpublished at 22:44 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    FT: St Mirren 3-2 Rangers

More reaction from Rangers boss Steven Gerrard as he goes on to tell Premier Sports how he knew his side "wouldn't win every game".

"At times you're going to get a bump on the road," says Gerrard.

"But the disappointing thing is we've missed a wonderful opportunity and we can't get that back.

"We've got two choices now. We let it fester, linger and feel sorry for ourselves, or we accept the criticism that's going to come our way.

"My job's to pick this group up now. We haven't felt this for a long time, so it's important we react in the right way."

  8. 'I'm responsible' for defeat, says Gerrardpublished at 22:36 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    FT: St Mirren 3-2 Rangers

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard tells Premier Sports: "As a group we've enjoyed praise, so we're going to have to take what comes our way, which will be the complete flip of that. We deserve that.

"I'm responsible. I'll take this for the players, because what they have given me this season has been outstanding.

"We've dominated large parts of the game in terms of possession. We haven't built on the first goal and we've concede three sloppy goals. This is football for you, especially cup football.

"From a defensive point of you, you can't defend how we did as a group tonight."

  13. 'It was a real monumental effort' - Goodwinpublished at 22:28 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    FT: St Mirren 3-2 Rangers

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sportsound: "I'm delighted. It was a real monumental effort from the players. For them to concede so early it could have made it an extremely difficult night for us.

"It was a fantastic performance from everybody. I'm just delighted I'm standing here on the right side of a victory.

"I was preparing for extra-time, my boys looked dead on their feet. They put so much effort in up to that point and that goal can really knock the wind out of you.

"I'm not saying we are going to win the cup, but I believe we can. I don't care who we get in the semis."

  14. 'Kick in the guts' for Countypublished at 22:25 Greenwich Mean Time 16 December 2020

    FT: Livingston 2-0 Ross County

Ross County manager Stuart Kettlewell tells ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Sportsound: "It's obviously a kick in the guts for us. Really frustrating night.

"There were incidents in that game that just aren't falling for us. A number of incidents that can potentially swing the game in your favour.

"The players have given me everything. The second goal's the one moment where we let ourselves down. We need to pick ourselves up, we need to fight on, we need to go again."

The key for Rangers now is to not let this impact their season and get back to what they've been doing. That's where their focus has got to be now
