  1. Goodbye!published at 23:31 British Summer Time 29 June 2021

Well folks, that's it from me, and that's it from Glasgow!

Four games were hosted at Hampden, and we've seen some spectacular goals and a fair share of incredible moments. Sadly not too many of them came the way of Scotland. Still, I'm already dreaming about Qatar.

Congratulations to Ukraine tonight, and good luck to the eight teams dreaming of glory in the quarter-finals.

Thanks for your company tonight. It's been a blast!

  2. 'We are writing history'published at 23:28 British Summer Time 29 June 2021

    FT: Sweden 1-2 Ukraine (AET)

Ukraine's Oleksandr Zinchenko told 成人快手 Sport: 鈥淔irst of all I would like to celebrate today, we are writing history. I would like to thank the supporters during this game, after the first three games we deserved criticism but we came back and did what we wanted. Unbelievable emotions inside.

鈥淭he power is not how you punch, the power is how you stand up. We knew it would be a tough game, it doesn鈥檛 matter about the tactics or how we play, we have to win. We have to achieve this. People who were supporting us during this competition deserve this."

On England, the Manchester City man added: 鈥淚 watched the first half before the game, this team is showing some class in this competition with a lot of superstars on the field. I would love to see my team-mates as soon as possible because I miss them.鈥

  3. 'We played for all Ukraine fans'published at 23:22 British Summer Time 29 June 2021

    FT: Sweden 1-2 Ukraine (AET)

Ukraine boss Andriy Shevchenko told 成人快手 Sport: 鈥淚 am so happy, we played for all Ukraine fans, for the people who came here. We have a lot of Ukrainian community live in Britain. I know how much money they would be spent to come and I am very pleased my players gave everything tonight.

鈥淲e tried to close both sides and tried to have a little bit more control of the game. I am happy because at this stage of the tournament you have to give more than 100% and what I saw from my players today they really tried and played with heart.

鈥淢y message to the players was to believe, we are here and this is our chance to change the future and we did it.

鈥淚 saw the first half of England Germany. England are a great team, a lot of great players and a great manager. It will be a hard game for us.鈥

"It felt we would score eventually, but unfortunately we didn't."

On the penalty, he added: "My colleagues in the stand told me it was a red card. It was a very experienced referee. I haven't seen it yet but I think it's probably right."

    • Ukraine have reached the quarter-finals of a major tournament for only the second time, the previous instance being the 2006 World Cup (eliminated by Italy).
    • Sweden have been eliminated from all three of their knockout stage matches at the Euros (also vs Germany in 1992 and Netherlands in 2004).
    • Timed at 120:37, Ukraine鈥檚 Artem Dovbyk scored the second-latest goal in European Championship history, behind Semih Sent眉rk v Croatia in 2008 (121:01), and the latest match-winning strike in the competition, overtaking Michel Platini v Portugal in 1984 (118:53).

The Ukraine players are making their way over to the north east corner of the National Stadium in Glasgow. The stadium announcer asks for fans to keep their distance in the stand, but there's no sign of that. It's bedlam over there as the supporters make their way to the front of the stand to greet their heroes.

    It's a Ukrainian love-in in Glasgow.
