    Kent 124-7 v Glamorgan

    Useful little stand for Kent.

Darren Stevens has top-edged a pull off Michael Hogan for six over fine leg and then flicked a boundary to the same region.

Nathan Gilchrist getting in on the act too, driving Michael Neser through point for four more.

High winds and rain brought another fascinating session to a frustratingly early conclusion.

Hashim Amla and Rikki Clarke batted through the first hour adding valuable runs in the context of this game.

Amla was bowled by a beauty from Tom Helm for 23 and in the next over Blake Cullen had Clarke caught behind for 19.

Then the rain arrived and we keep our fingers crossed that we can get get out there again today.

  3. 100 runs

up for Kentpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 100-7 v Glamorgan

It's another sorry scorecard for Kent who do at least limp into three figures.

They began so brightly when play got under way at 4.30pm yesterday but having been 60-0 have gone tumbling away.

Darren Stevens' third boundary brings the 100 up.

  4. Postpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

Seven of our eight games are now delayed by rain. But they're still going at Canterbury. For now.

  5. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Hants 233 v Leics 28-5

Relief for Leicestershire as rain takes them off the field at The Ageas Bowl.

Three wickets for Kyle Abbott and two for Mohammad Abbas in that damaging half-hour spell.

  6. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Surrey 185-8 v Middlesex

The umpires had a decent chat and decided the light had deteriorated too much.

Steady drizzle then starts to fall on SE11.

The wind is so strong today that they cannot extend the retractable floodlights, which obviously leaves us more vulnerable to bad light.

  7. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Essex 16-1 v Warwickshire 166

It's been drizzling for most of Essex's innings, but now the rain has got heavier and they're going off.

Looking at the forecast, we might be lucky to get any more cricket in today at Chelmsford.

  8. Postpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 93-7 v Glamorgan

    Another wicket for Glamorgan.

Marcus O'Riordan is squared up by Timm van der Gugten and nicks one behind that leaves him a fraction up the slope.

Kent very much in danger of being blown away yet again in this terrible season for their batsmen.

  9. rain stops play

Raining again at Trent Bridgepublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

Notts 51-3 v Worcs - start delayed, rain

    This isn't hugely surprising...

    A perfect length .

The tail is quite lengthy for Surrey and Middlesex will now hope to wrap this up quickly.

    Surrey 185-6 v Middlesex

A really good opening hour for Surrey with Hashim Amla and Rikki Clarke making steady progress and moving towards a first batting point.

Middlesex are probing away but this is a decent wicket on what we saw for most of yesterday.
