  1. Highest partnershippublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 121-8

You know that things have not gone to plan when batters nine and 10 put on the highest partnership.

That's the case with this Lancashire knock as Jack Blatherwick and Will Williams are doing here.

This is worth 29 runs and a partnership that is developing in annoyance factor.

  2. Postpublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset 64-0 v Notts 193

Luke Fletcher's run of three successive maidens comes to an end as his attempted bouncer goes askew and is called wide.

He's into his sixth over his second spell and ninth of the innings - and thundered in, so may be showing signs of tiring.

His immaculate line and length slips a little and Sean Dickson (40) is quick to pounce, as Fletcher concedes a rare boundary.

He goes over the wicket and gets one to nip back into Dickson's pads, angling towards leg stump. It looked a really strong lbw shout, but the umpire is unmoved.

  3. Postpublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 316-2

Warwickshire's score of 300 really is the outlier today.

There are 11 overs left tonight and Hampshire really could do with a couple of wickets to change the complexion of the match.

Not sure the Bears are going to reach 698 like last week, but certainly a very good score.

  4. 50 runs

for Marcus Harrispublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 19 April

    Derbys v Leics 105-2

    Marcus HarrisImage source, Rex Features

He's had to be patient because of rain delays but Marcus Harris gloves one round the corner off Blair Tickner and that takes him to 50 off 103 balls.

It's his second of the season, having rejoined Leicestershire following a spell in Bristol. There are another 14 overs to be bowled in the day.

  5. Postpublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 19 April

    Kent 83-2 v Surrey

Good job Tom Lawes didn't get a fingertip on that or it could have been a sticky moment for Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Jack Leaning hits it powerfully back down the track and knocks out a stump at Lawes' end, but there was no contact by the bowler.

  6. 100 up for Lancspublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 101-8

Jamie Porter spears one into Will Williams' pads and the number 10 sends the ball out to the midwicket boundary.

Four welcome runs and three figures up for Lancashire.

  7. new ball

New ballpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 305-2

Hampshire have waited an extra couple of overs, but now they do choose the new ball.

Kyle Abbott has it. His team need it to work a little bit of magic in the remaining 14 overs today.

  8. 'What a moment for Noah Thain'published at 17:40 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 92-8

What a moment that is for 19 year-old Noah Thain.

Brought on to bowl having watched Snater, Cook and Porter work their way through the Lancashire batting line-up, he finds the edge of Tom Bailey’s bat with his third ball to get his first Championship wicket.

And in taking the catch, Simon Harmer has his 100th first class catch for Essex.

  9. 'Who'd be a top order batter in these conditions!?'published at 17:40 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs 12-2 v Durham 244

    Frank Watson
    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Hereford & Worcester

Who'd be a top order batter in these conditions!? But it's the same for both sides.

And very similar for both sides in terms of the way the innings have started with two early wickets.

Worcestershire will be hoping that they can steady the ship in the way that the third-wicket pair of David Bedingham and Colin Ackermann did for Durham.

But it's a good start by the Durham bowlers. There's hardly been a loose delivery by either of them, Ben Raine in particular has been on the money and both Raine and Matt Potts have picked up a wicket.

  10. 50 runs

50 up for Somersetpublished at 17:39 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset 52-0 v Notts 193

Luke Fletcher is looking the bowler most likely and the Somerset openers are giving him plenty of respect with plenty of leaves.

Fletcher picks up his fourth maiden from his seven overs. Tight.

Lyndon James serves up a wide one at the other end and Sean Dickson (34) dispatches it to the rope.

Haseeb Hameed prevents back-to-back boundaries but the batters run three to bring up the Somerset fifty in 18.3 overs.

    An impressive start.

  11. wicket

WICKET Bailey c Harmer b Thain 19published at 17:37 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 92-8

Championship debutant Noah Thain is thrown the ball by captain Tom Westley.

The 19-year-old's first ball is a dot, his second is steered off the back foot for four by Tom Bailey and the third finds the edge of Bailey's bat.

A wicket off his third ball with catching practice for Simon Harmer at second slip.

This is close to being a perfect day for Essex.

  12. wicket

WICKET Holden c Tattersall b Edwards 12published at 17:35 British Summer Time 19 April

    Middx 37-2 v Yorks 159

It really is pretty dark out there, lights or not, and Max Holden can only nick a leg-cutter from Mickey Edwards to the keeper as Middlesex lose their second wicket.

And with that, there is a rain in the air and the rest of the players follow the disconsolate Holden back to the changing rooms.

Will that be it for the day?

  13. wicket

WICKET Bruce c Cook b Porter 26published at 17:33 British Summer Time 19 April

    Essex v Lancashire 88-7

The last recognised Lancashire batter is on his way back to the hutch.

Tom Bruce looks to work a Jamie Porter delivery to midwicket, but gets it high on the bat and it loops up to midwicket.

An easy catch for Sam Cook and Essex are three wickets away from batting.

  14. 'An interesting game is developing'published at 17:32 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs 9-2 v Durham 244

    ³ÉÈË¿ìÊÖ Hereford & Worcester

There's an interesting game of cricket developing here, there's no question about that.

  15. 300 runs

300 up for Warwickshirepublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 19 April

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 300-2

A powerful sweep shot from new batter Ed Barnard gets him his first boundary and the team's 300.

That means they now have two batting points in the 80th over.

  16. 50 runs

for Colin Ingrampublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 19 April

    Northants v Glamorgan 133-5

Simple as you like, Colin Ingram dabs away a delivery from Luke Procter and a single carries him to 50 off 78 balls.

An invaluable knock from the South African, given his side were 27-4 in the 11th over of their innings.

Still plenty more for Glamorgan to do, though.

  17. wicket

    WICKET D'Oliveira b Potts 0published at 17:29 British Summer Time 19 April

    Worcs 9-2 v Durham 244

    Game on!

Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira looks to leave the final ball of Matthew Potts' second over, but it catches his bat and cannons into his stumps.

An 11-ball duck for D'Oliveira, a wicket-maiden for Potts and Durham are right back in this.

Rob Jones is the new man in.

  18. Division Two updatepublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 19 April

Gloucestershire have lost their fifth wicket at Hove, with Graeme van Buuren lbw to Fynn Hudson-Prentice for 26. just three runs short of what would have been a 50 partnership with James Bracey, leaving them on 218-5.

Mickey Edwards is into the attack for Yorkshire at Lord's where Middlesex are 37-1 in the ninth over, having bowled out the visitors for 159.

  19. Postpublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 19 April

    Somerset 39-0 v Notts 193

A half-hearted retrospective appeal from Luke Fletcher raises a chuckle among the crowd.

The bowler grins as he heads back to his mark. It's a maiden.

He has been bang on the money - his six overs have cost just five runs.

  20. 50 runs

50 stand for Kentpublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 19 April

    Kent 68-2 v Surrey

Jordan Clark - sporting a Gareth Bale-style top knot - bangs one in half-way down and Jack Leaning lifts it over the slips for four and brings up a half-century partnership with Daniel Bell-Drummond.

It's the first of three fours in the over for Leaning, who 'races' to 16 not out, with Daniel Bell-Drummond on 42.
